CD Projekt RED has announced a new release date for the delayed Enhanced Edition of The Witcher:

CD Projekt RED would like to announce that the release date of The Witcher Enhanced Edition has been finally set. Consequently, the vastly improved edition of the acclaimed CD Projekt RED's magnum opus has been set for the first half of September 2008. Setting the release
date for September results from the requirement of polishing all ten language versions and releasing The Witcher Enhanced Edition in all languages at the same time. The Enhanced Edition by itself will be a deluxe one, containing a lot of additional content not available in the basic version of the game.

The exclusive edition of The Witcher apart from the game dvd will also consist of a video dvd, a bonus materials dvd (among all D'jinni the adventure editor and 2 official adventures "The price of neutrality" and "Side effects"), the game soundtrack as well as a music cd with music inspired by the game. The new content and improvements will be available to registered users of the game free-of-charge.

They also released a picture of the Polish version of the EE:

Well, I'm rather curious to see what the expanded edition will entail. I dig the after sales support of these guys though. This goes way beyond a simple patch, not too mention that the game as it is, allready was one of the coolest rpg's I played in years. I hope for them it sells though, this could've costed them quite some money.

Oh god no. Now I know what the first five pages of the thread will be about.

Heh, you made my day. Haven't laughed at something on codex for some months already.
But how am I going to piss someone off after this remark?

Hast thou no manners? Since when does one answer a question with a question?
What kind of map?!

Cloth? Elf skin? Paper?

No Wolf-Amulet alarm clock? It would be cool, no? In game it vibrated when you were near monsers. And such clock would vibrate waking you up to work -- in fact getting close to your monster boss.
Bethesda did better...

Also what kind of map? Will it show detailed Vysiima? What about surroundings, the swamps? Could be printed in a way that you'd feel bumps where it shows the hills. Cool stuff. If the map is cloth, I'm gonna buy the game again to get it!

I meant: how do trees feel about recycled paper?
The way you would feel about wearing your dead granny's pupic hair as a wig. Not very comfortable. They are very particular about recycled paper.

Undead trees.
What do you call tree stumps then?
Wooden performance?

The best thing imo is that they're fixing translation issues for all languages. I played the 'proper' version before, but neverthless it's a good occasion for a second playthrough.

A vibrating wolf amulet could have other uses as well...

The hankerchief that came with NWN ruined the value of cloth maps to me.

I am more impressed by the original Polish only Special Fancy Edition but it's still cool that they could do this.

the russian version of TW was fucking godawful. only 4 voice-actors to voice the whole game. 3 male and 1 female. and they sucked horribly. plus that fucking chocolate bar commercial. I don't want even a single bit of that shit in my EE.
also I'm so hoping that they will change Vyzima's design. I really hated that city. Brown copy-pasta buildings, grey road, blue sky + bloom which made all this look like it was covered with acid. without bloom Vyzima looked even worse. CD Projekt does outdoors 10 times better tbh
