In other Dragon Age news:

We wanted to give the community a heads-up on a recent decision to move the launch of Dragon Age: Origins for the PC to the last half of 2009. That’s a change from the previously announced date of March 2009.

Why is this happening? Both EA and BioWare are really excited about the potential of the game on both PC and consoles and we want to ensure we deliver a blockbuster, AAA BioWare-quality title - as the game is shaping up so well already. An incredible amount of time and effort has gone into Dragon Age: Origins and this extra time will ensure we deliver the quality kind of launch you have come to expect from our games.

At BioWare, our fans and community have always been top priority, so we wanted to you to hear this news from us first.

If Dragon Age is not a blockbuster, AAA "BioWare-quality" title, do we get to sue? How does one define "BioWare-quality"?

Thanks Szioul!

I just love this. They're basically saying that the hype will be so great, it will be worth waiting half a year for. They are trying to present a kind of backwards world were fluff is as important as content!

That "community coordinator" has a bright future as a lawyer or politician if he's able to spout that kind of bullshit with a straight face.

Another bullshit announcement from Bio obviously handed to them by EA in order to justify the unjustifiable.

and this extra time will ensure we deliver the quality kind of launch you have come to expect from our games.

Which is utter bullshit of course, the PC version is finished and will be gathering dust until the console ones catch-up.

Most likely.

What's fucked up is that doing nothing to the game is not the worst that could happen to it.

More time could be spent on consolification and hacking away even more shit for DLC.

True. But the comment was against EA's marketing policy and not against an (assumed) consolization or DLC work on the game.

Wow, what news. Now I get to wait longer for a game I didn't even intend to buy in the first place.

So, delaying games is now 'unjustifiable'? That's retarded.

EA delayed most of the upcoming releases in order to gain more j-gold; DA, ME2 (in your face volourn), the sims 3, The Godfather 2, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Battlefield Bad Company 2.

I'll just hope for a disgruntled employee and bittorrent so we can bury the mainstream PC gaming market for good.

They need more time... to sync PC release with the consoles'?
Yes. That way they can put their hype machine to work and try to get as many console-fags as possible to buy the game. If they had released the PC game first and then ported it would not have been as effective.

Some dumbing-down may also be in the works.

Quite probable.

So they can do a full-blown witcher rip-off now.
Nah, as I sad earlier they are only ripping of CDPR RP talk about the "Gray" stuff
During the presentation, those decisions were presented to us, as you'd expect, in the traditional dialogue tree. But to its credit, there was very little of the obvious good, evil, and neutral options that plague the genre. It was just options. And because the situation wasn't as morally straightforward as killing or rescuing a wide-eyed child, every side had a fairly valid point.
Eurogamer probably got a letter with there copy telling they want them to say. Because if they wanted to rip-off TW they game could actualy be better then the standard Bioware-fantasy-fun-fare.

Guys, guys... If you're going to deliver shit in a package, you might as well wrap it in pretty ribbons. I'm sure Bioware just needs more time to make the game better dumb it down.

They just want to launch on the tardbox first to avoid piracy.

So they are taking the time to build it up properly? Makes sense, DA does seem a bit neglected compared to past Bio titles, marketing wise.
