In This thread on the forum pool over at Obsidian Entertainment, there's a discussion about the multiple endings Knights of the Old Republic 2 is supposed to have, Akari basically confirms that unlike lame assed hilts for light sabers, multiple endings will be coded in. Here's what he says:

It's hard to say too much without dropping clues that could spoil things in advance and that's the last thing I want to do. The best I can do is paraphrase what Avellone said in one of the interviews where he mentioned that we hope to have a more Fallout-like ending, where you get a recap of the fates of the different areas and characters you influenced. That would be coupled with a couple traditional ending sequences that related to how the game ended for your character.

We know endings are important and will do what we can.

And who doesn't like hearing how they screwed up an area or made the world a better place?

Thanks, ichpokhudezh!

Cool. They seem to be stealing BIO's idea for Jade Empire.

Sounds good, I hope that Obsidian manage to make a good game out of this.

I'd be shocked if it were worse than the original, which means that it will at least be worth borrowing. Based on Obsidian's pedigree, though, I'll probably just buy the damn thing without even waiting for fellow codexers to "test" it.

If they do a great job, Obsidian will suddenly have a whole lot of cultural capital with folks like us. If the sequel is only slightly better than the original, we'll probably give Obsidian a pass till the next project or two, considering the constraints of the license and the series. I'm trying not to think about other scenarios. :)

Hmm, maybe I should check out the minimum system requirements on this game and see if I'll be able to run it (though my guess is no). I like the Star Wars setting, but I don't know if I'll be able to get into the gameplay if it's the same as what I saw of the original on X-Box.

It's not your fault, Astro--MCA's shiny bald head is downright mesmerizing.
