Oh, if anyone has extra dynamite also, it'd really help my base building. Once I have the invincible moat complete, it will be an easy way to get past horde night with minimal damage. It's not landclaimed (and you can't really land claim it either because its next to a trader), but anyone is free to use it as they wish, once complete. Right now its just an unfinished hole in the ground.

You can build more "fun" bases when you are ready, but sometimes you just want the zombies dead so you can get on with what ur doing.

Building a horde night base in the wasteland that survives is beating the game imo.

To whoever logs in next, I'm sorry about logging out on horde night. I'll try to get a couple horde nights done soon myself. I'll get you my coordinates next time for a motorcycle also, bring an extra engine if you have it too. I think I need to make another cement mixer. I'm about to start burning these stacks of stone I got.

Just entered, did a mission, wasn't able to even build a shetler, died a 100 times in the night. Maybe I got right before it got to night.

I entered walked around, changed sensitivity settings, started reading the journal then some random zombo came so i punched him to death, but then I realized I had a torch so I equipped that and then went to do the quest to gather plant matter, I kept hitting plants until I figured out I was burning them with my torch then I started punching them and made a sleeping bag.. did the whole questline and it told me to start building but i only built one square and then upgraded it and then it was like Awesome Building, Great Job! and so I was like ok.. then I decided to just gather shit since I'll probably need it right? killed some zombos who were encroaching on me and then went to meet the trader. Right near the trader I saw some little house belonging to DarkUnderlord and smiled. I took a quest to go find loot and killed some zombos there but ultimately got killed and failed the job then I woke up and all my shit was gone.. I had so much shit from punching every plant and rock and looting everything on the way from where i first spawned to the trader that I was grossly overencumbered and all that shit was gone

I went and retrieved it and killed the zombo that killed me w/ a knife I found, also found some cool shades and a better pair of pants.... then night came and I got scared and ran to DU's house and logged out..

no idea what I'm doing or where to start building, or how that even works.. you have to claim the land first or something? also I have like 4 stat points but have NO idea what to put them in, I'm thinking early on extra crafting or inventory space would be good but no idea what is shit and what is good.

question: is there a way to throw shit? like I found rotten meat and how do I throw it to use as a lure or a distraction?
question: is there a way to holster your weapon or whatever you are carrying so you aren't constantly walking around like a retard w/ a weapon/tool drawn? I know you can 'equip' an empty hotbar space but that just means one less thing on the hotbar :/

That was what that quest of putting down a single block was for. The rest of it works like Minecraft. IE: Place more blocks. Upgrade them, build doors etc..

You can technically build anywhere - including within an existing POI (Point of Interest) however be mindful:
- When you do quests, you'll notice POIs reset when you start them. Meaning if someone's built inside of a POI (even placed a Land Claim there) and anyone does a quest at that POI, all that gets nuked as the POI is reset. This goes for any containers you put down on the POI to store things before you start. Start the quest first or be prepared to say bye-bye to all yer shit (you can place AFTER starting the quest though).
- You can place a Land Claim Block down (made from stone, you also start with one) which claims an area of land in multi-player. Any chests or doors within your land claim that are LOCKED can't be opened except by you and your allies. Any blocks within your land claim also become invulnerable to other players, excepting zombies as this is a PVE server.

Fortitude skills are a good start. Zombies become relatively easy to deal with once you have some kind of gun and enough ammo.

No and no. I mean you can drop shit by dragging it outside your inventory (it'll despawn after a while) but it doesn't work as a lure.

You could eat rotting flesh, but it makes you sick.

There are a few recipes that use it, but rotting flesh isnt worth stacking a lot of because it's easy to get when you decide you need it.

The big use for me is when I make farming plots. The farming mechanics for alpha 20 are kinda gay, but essentially unchanged from the previous alpha.

Instead of getting seeds back when you harvest, you get extra crops (with the appropriate perk), and then you turn those extra crops back into seeds. So, it's an extra step.

You'll eventually want to make the better food so you dont have to consoom as much food and worry about it less. This requires some farming for a steady supply of ingredients. So turn the rotting flesh into farm plots as you get materials, and start farming when you are ready.

Oh, if anyone comes across super corn seeds, I need some for reasons.

The shape menu and advanced rotation menu.

When you have the "square block thing" (wood frame) selected on your hot bar, you can press and hold the "r" key on your keyboard.

A radial menu will show up. If you select the "shapes" button, you can choose from the shapes. Then once you have a shape selected, if you want to rotate it beyond its standard rotations, select the "advanced rotation" button.

Letters are in the shape menu though. I probably should name my town something classy.

I played a bit today, got killed on horde night because I forgot to knock out a ladder in the hasty base i built on a POI.

I still might have fought them off if I had a second machine gun equipped, but my machine gun broke and that was it. The Pistol wasn't fast enough for them. Maybe I'll make an auto shotgun to deal with situations like that in the future.

I did find a ratchet today, its like an upgraded wrench. The end goal is to find an impact driver. The impact driver is like an auger, but for mechanical parts. You break down cars and other stuff really fast with it.

I also found two super corn seed recipes, of which I read one. If anyone wants the other, I can toss it to you. I still need super-corn to start the the growing and seed making process.
