I'm still chipping away at this game, I reached level 173 over the weekend with DU (he's been level 300 forever).

There was an announcement last time I logged in about a new alpha 21 being released soon, but no firm date yet.

I'll be watching though, I'm sure it will be a big update with how many people they have working on it.

Hmm, I believe the NA servers I play FFXIV on are based in CA somewhere (~150ms) and that's usually fine, but that's an MMO, and not based on the shell of an FPS. Not sure how it'd translate.

Anyone know how well the game generally handles latency? GrafvonMoltke what's your ping etc. like from central Asia?

Seems fine for me, and I'm usually on the shittiest connection. It's PVE not PVP. In fact, server is set such that you can't even damage other players or their bases.

Don't remember exactly but it was always perfectly playable, even during badass horde nights with da boiz.

Got some pretty cool horde tunnels going underneath my base. As the electric fences fail, I can fall back through to another position and turn on fences where I was just standing.
