Applicant must send a written quest design doc with gameplay mechanics, dialogue, walkthrough, and implementation criteria. We will not review Morrowind Plugins themselves, so do not send them. Keep the background story in your design to a minimum; we are interested in seeing your dialogue writing, logical thinking, overall quest flow, and implementation ability.

How about hiring a producer with a damned sense of priorities instead?

Thanks, Morbius!

How come when companies state who they are looking to hire they always describe a very experienced and multi-talented individual?

I am never ever going to be hired for anything.

They seem to be more accepting of less skilled workers, most of the things they claim are pluses are usually required.

Of course maybe they are really required and they just want a larger pool of ideas to steal from...

While I don't fill in all requirements I would actually apply for that work if I lived a little big closer to their headquaters. Like in the same continent.

What exactly do they mean by written quest design doc? I mean, I've never seen one before so not really sure how to make one... what do they look like and stuff?

Same thing with gameplay mechanics and implementation criteria. No idea what they mean with those. At least not in terms of making a quest. Maybe they mean you can make the gameplay of the imaginary game anything you want, but just tell them so they know what kind of game the quest is taking place in?

Yeah, actually thinking of doing this.

That's why they're searching professionals, not hobbyists...

I'm not even much of a hobbyist... heh.

Just a guy with a Computer Science degree who plays too many games. ;)

That might hurt if you had a sense of humor or a brain....

Ignorance is bliss.

I'm not sure how Beth managed before, either hiring shitty writers or none. Going on a talent hunt so early (if indeed it's about FO3) is a good sign.

Still, whoever they might hire doesn't change the fact that we probably won't see quests with the depth of Fallout or Arcanum. Hell, I would be surprised if they made a game that could be compareable to Bloodlines when it comes to that.

quest-wise it was much better than morrowind. but overall it's good to see bethesda adressing previous weakpoints.

Well, Bloodlines was much better combat wise and dialogue wise. If it had been more open ended like Morrowind and didn't have those lame ass linear FPS style missions in order to advance through the game, Bloodlines would have been pretty damned sweet.
