I'll sit here and continue to cautiously fap...

looking over all the videos, while cautiously optimistic, i can't help but be reminded of so many other mediocre blobbers with similar textures and art styles...

and that's not counting the grimrocks as well

all textures and no gameplay, made by folks who may like blobbers, but don't seem to love them. i will wait to see i guess.

The major difference is that these are all grid-based and real-time, this one isn't. It's not trying to cut into the Grimrock-clone market, it's trying for a different niche, and given how few games are in that one, it looks pretty decent (outside of the GUI)

The GUI is really atrocious indeed because its so different in tone with the rest of the art we see in the game's world.

But, at least its turn based so inherently superior to all the other crap grid-based titles mentioned above.

indeed.

turn based is inherently based and absolute incline.

i am only concerned about how it looks similar to the others i had mentioned, those have a bad habit of having greasy looking stone walls (all of them) to show how their ability to cast reflections off of a surface. i'm hoping it does well and is actually good.

price is really high for now
On the internet everything is free. No, i'm joking, at least in this case but as Jarl, i'm not buying it at full prise. I have plenty of games to play.

Why it isn't named "A Legend That Became Quest" instead? Wouldn't that be more logical? Typical fantasy starts with some old legend (ancient enemy, artifact, etc.) and THEN you go to a quest because of it. Do I care what my quest will become in the future? Or is it some old quest i need to care about in game, for some reason?
Probably i'm overthinking it.

I think the idea is that the quest you're undergoing is so epic that it will become legend in the future.

Bought it, played for half an hour. Terrible UI, VERY unintuitive, obnoxious and makes everything harder. Needs more time in the oven.
Refunded for now.

P.S. Edited for additional info:
- character creation is decent, you choose your gender (m/f), class out of 4 options - fighter, cleric (called shaman in this game), mage, thief, distribute some points and then you get a entire screen worth of text narrated cheesily (which i found a bit charming)
- char creation is very crisp and clear, tooltips for everything. Very nice. Decent portraits as well.
- you can set up 4 quickslot abilities for each char, BUT cant use em with numbers. Gotta click every damn time on a ability and then on your target, and often the camera moves as well left-right, annoying as hell and very offputting
- while moving there is no cursor, if you wish to click on something you gotta stop and press "q", THEN a pointer appears. Annoying
- combat log is fucking terrible and small, as in REALLY small and seems not customisable, and USELESS
- people in towns are just uncanny valley dolls
- overall graphics are nice

The UI sucks but I got used to it after a couple hours, but the amount of typos and misspellings in dialogue, spell names, and menus is inexcusable and embarrassing. I don't understand why the devs wouldn't bother to proofread anything and catch those, unless they're actually that bad of spellers and didn't know any better. I am actually enjoying the game though, combats been good enough
