Where do the shipdwellers' coins come from? Of the alternatives, seems to be the payment option that makes the least sense in a colony ship context. Depending on the specifics of the setting, you could have some sort of digitised currency + chipping w/ central bank, or multiple payment systems of the sort with different solution providers. Could have barter in favours, useful objects... companies only pay you in company credit etc.
What central bank? On a colony ship? There was no need for any form of currency before the mutiny as everything was provided by the ship and 'overseers', for the lack of a better word at the moment. After the mutiny, when the dust settled, three new factions emerged, which led to trade, barter, and eventually a crude form of currency. Maybe stamped platinum squares.

Please, devs, make an ambient sounds. This is the only thing why I can't play the game. Untill your game I've never realized how ambient sounds are important for immersion into the world.

As its set in the same universe, similar time period? Prior or after (though this would likely force you to admit a 'canon' ending, the Aurelian-Legion powersharing one seems most 'likely' in a universe without the AoD pc)? Could also be amusing to run into some minor characters from AoD whose ending is ambiguous like the thief bro or perhaps Mithridates having gone a step too far from his cozy life as a 'nobleman' and being banished, recruitable as a quite poor fighter who still will sell you out at the drop of a hat.

I'm on an actual spaceship. No joke.

Platinum squares are not a bad idea. Metal squares would be easy to counterfeit, but not if the material is scarce.

Glad barter's in. Makes sense.

What is the Battle of the Five Armies and Rise of the Chosen One?

Came here to ask the same question :) So, I second this - what are those? Also, what's the optional combat in Temple? A fight with Benny?
Battle of the Five Armies - instead of taking a lord to the temple convince the lords (whoever survived, including Paullus) to attack the temple; the option won't guarantee a good outcome by default as that would depend on a number of factors.
Rise of the Chosen One - convincing the god to pick you then wrestling the power from Meru.
Optional combat - you'll see soon enough.

Thanks a lot for the reply! Any news on the bug with 20 Death Screens achievement, by the way? ;) That's the only one left for many people, myself included.

We'll replace it with another achievement in the near future, probably after the next update.

Vault Dweller What about the possibility of breaches in the ship's hull due to malfunction, combat, etc? Might result in possible laws prohibiting the possession of anything with more piercing power than a high-caliber rifle?
Pretty much. No grenades, rocket launchers, miniguns, etc.

All of these sound like really good news! Congratulations on being able to do what you love guys. (And poor Randy kinda had a point about ambient sounds. I know it cannot be a priority of any kind, but it really helps with the atmosphere).

If you're interested in quasi-science'ing the metal currency, Pt > Ir > Ni > Al are a good scale for value based on real-world utility. Pt and Ir are precious metals not easily found in manufactured goods and in conjunction with Ni are all metals used in the generation of energy and useful fuels (oxygen, hydrogen) and compounds (polymers, carbon nanotubes). Ni and Al are not considered precious metals, but are decently rare and incredibly useful in manufacturing of high performance metal alloys.

They should design a way to kill a party of pure death dealers somehow. Traps? Poison? I don't have many ideas right now, but designing this should be an interesting challenge.

I think they just want to ship this quickly and get on the development of the Colony Ship RPG, though.

Not being able to create an own party in a party based dungeon crawler is a serious flaw, IMHO.
It's not that kind of crawler.

I'm gussesing they're doing that to avoid a party of pure death dealers.
We don't want to force crappy party members on you either. It's about the process of "putting a band back together" and slowly acquiring new party members, replacing the old ones if necessary. It's something we'll use in the colony ship RPG and we want to try it in the dungeon crawler first to gain some experience and feedback.

For example, we want to tie CHA to your party size. So your party size will range from 2 to 5. One of the issues is difficulty. Obviously, there's a huge difference between 2 guys and 5 guys. One of the solutions is XP split: 2 guys could be a lot more capable than 5 guys, but we can't say for sure until we start testing it.

Perhaps alternatively a fixed party size but a good CHA being necessary to get the best NPCs in your party (+ some other benefits, obviously dialogue is going to be relatively light here but I'm sure an occasion or two to talk will come up) while a one man death machine who dumps it will be stuck with the wimps and shifty traitors.

Party of five spearmen sounds pretty good to me, granted that any fighter wielding a shield would provide small defense bonus to any character on an adjacent square/hex and small attack penalty perhaps. Formations FTW!

There's some immense cheese potential.
Imagine a party of 5 spear-men. Or 5 crossbowmen. Or 5 axemen. Or 5 dudes with dagger/cs.
That's the point of a full party creation, isn't it? That you can try out any combo you fancy and see how it works. If going to an extreme instead of a diverse skillset is the optimum way, that can be a mark of bad design. A diverse party is probably more fun to play for most people, so making that be effective should probably be the first goal. If people want to experiment with 1-sided parties they should knowingly risk being RPS'd to death.

Even with recruitment of party members, having a wide range of compositions available to play with would be ideal.
