The bare fact that Bethesda doing it should make clear to anyone that Fallout 3 will not be the sequel that 1,2 deserve. Everything after that is just pure desperate hopeful wishes.

Anyway, that horse is dead, Jim.

Hope they make a more AOW1 style campaign, with extra player repercussion over the campaign and extra paths to follow.

To me it sounds like they are going to go with the old command and conquer style of 2 separate long campaigns based on
An epic story campaign with two playable factions;. Choose the mighty Commonwealth Empire or join the Court of the High Elves, founded after the reunion of the Dark Elves and Wood Elves.

As far as repercussions go, we will have to wait and see.

-Man 2013/2014 is shaping up to be a banner new era in gaming. With the technology getting cheaper and AAA games getting dumber - Are we actually seeing a resurgence in creativity and depth?

Hell, even 2012 (to a lesser degree) has been one of the better years in PC gaming since...hmmmmm. Pre 2000 or so.

I am really happy with the sheer number of good games on my radar- And THIS sounds like it will be done "right". When I saw this thread I was like "Damn, leave AOW alone..." then I started reading a bit and I am impressed and intrigued.

-The incline is slapping me upside my head.

Oh sweet baby jesus. I know some people think having (bad) sequels to long dead games is worse than nothing at all, but I disagree. At least there's a possibility it won't be shit, and that gives me hope. Hope is all I have anymore. :(

Yes seems very similar, especially the helmet. Wonder where did they copy it since I seriously doubt that Warhammer could create anything even remotely original.

Nice to see a lot of good Fantasy strat games popping up. Hopefully the fact that there's a few of them means the developers will be competitive in terms of supporting/polishing their products.

I guess the best scenario we can count on is something like Heroes V. A game that does not set any new standards, but is a good sequel with some things taken away and some things added. Plus the shitty flashy disneylike 3d of course.

Anyway, I really can't be excited about all those reboots anymore. Keeping my pants on for the time being, if it turns out OK, I'll :bounce:wildly. We're long due a good game of this kind.

Well we can make some uninformed predictions at least. Have they sold their soul to a big name developer/studio/corporation? What were they doing recently? Based on that we can see what they are capable of.

Still independent as far as I know. No major releases since Overlord II in 2009 though...

I like a lot the idea of different leader types. They each seem to be different enough to have the potential of fun, different playthroughs. I think I'm going to start with Smug Technologist Gentleman, a eternal Arcanum classic. :obviously:
I think it could be a cool option. A fantasy-specific way of introducing faction-specific strengths for different kinds of play-styles or win conditions.
