Aren't you looking forward to AOD?

That seems to be a hint if ever there was one.J.E. Sawyer said:Also, a project's status rarely hinges on the activities of a single intermediate designer on a team of 40+ people.

I don't know, the scenario of Sega temporarily pulling the plug on Aliens until they get revenue from Alpha Protocol still seems more plausible than anything else. I mean, it's already a project that's been going for a while and which Sega has already put a lot of money in. For them to just let it go doesn't seem like good business, to be honest. And as far as giving the project to another developer goes, that doesn't seem to be very efficient either, unless Obsidian really, really fucked up. So I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.
I wonder if this means that Alpha Protocol will be rushed out the doors.

That's no hint of life. Sawyer was commenting on whether it's a good idea to include cancelled projects on your resume. He's saying that, just because a project is cancelled, does not mean there weren't people doing good work, as "a project's status rarely hinges on the activities of a single intermediate designer". So, nothing wrong with including cancelled projects on your resume.Dicksmoker said:That seems to be a hint if ever there was one.J.E. The Black Hound (cancelled, Lead Designer)
Fallout 3 (cancelled, Co-Lead Designer)
Aliens RPG (cancelled, Project Director and Lead Designer)
It's the curse of Josh Sawyer. Any project he's involved with leading gets cancelled. To break it, he has to make Icewind Dale 3.
I don't actually know of a game that was put on hold and then resumed and still turned out to be the same game.

Sad but true.Zomg said:I'd imagine that it would be resuscitated in the nigh-impossible event that AP does gangbusters rather than the low side of respectable it will actually do without an orchestrated hype train.

It should be flexible enough. Obsidian has been planning to use it for at least several future projects.serch said:A turn based 4ed dungeon crawler would be awesome. Icewind Dale 3, yep, it's your destiny Sawyer-man. I find 4ed better in strategic terms. Is Onyx open enough to let you implement on it different rule sets?
