Am I doing it wrong? (Arcanum)

personally, my holy trinity replaces arcanum with bloodlines. *shrug* im a pagan i know.

I did however find the fight with the bridge bandits very fun, I was usually physically weak at that time (and never used NPCs or followers) so I'd have to dig for some MacGuyver style shenanigans to deal with them.

I talked them into giving me money and leaving.

Problem with Bloodlines is that it's very first-time-around game. It loses a lot of charm second time around.

Despite the amount of praise for it - I never took too much to all out Diplomat characters and didn't use Charisma much (since I didn't intend to use a party).
