I didn't mention North and South because it was a multiplatform release, if I am not mistaken. Still, I should have mentioned it, the game rocked, Centurion as well.

Never played Wings, only Knights of the Sky. Even in multiplayer with a friend on another Amiga.

Another that is worth mentioning, although it's a ripoff.

I don't think so, this game had a dark fantasy look to it, should have mentioned that. The character is a muscular guy with a metal helmet covering his head/face.

I remember Black Tiger well. You collected the coins as you went along, and upgraded your initial weapon with others and bought armour, etc at shops. It was certainly an easier game to finish than Rygar. Harder than Wonderboy and Wonderboy in Monsterland though.

Here is one to test you. I cannot remember its name, but I will give a description anyway. It was a platformer that had various platforms up and down. You didn't so much as scroll through the level, but rather had to fight different enemies that would come into play on that level until you defeated them all, including bosses.

The game was cartoonish, and you picked out of three characters, one a pigman with a rake, another that looked like a monkey with a staff and some other character that had a different kind of polearm. I am guessing it is the cast of Monkey Magic.

You could attack, jump, do jumping attacks, etc. Once you had dealt with most of the enemies for each level, the boss character/s would appear and again you would have to use the various platforms to evade them and gain position. Quite a hard game.

Seriously, it was, though. It invented Peter Molyneux - but don't blame the game.

Shadow of the Beast and Heimdall were outstanding, and thankfully came to me at an age when I still didn't realise that games were supposed to be beaten and completed. I just experienced them, as new environments, 'till something killed me. It was better that way, in a way.

Another World and Flashback.... perhaps the true pinnacle of gaming, and of CGI?

With all their futile artistry and pseudo-realism and motion-capture, have Pixar and ILM really ever managed to surpass the hand opening the can at 1:58 in this?

He seemed to vanish after a while, and I was waiting for him to finish it and play it on an emulator. I have a real 64 to play the other games, hence why I still look about for anything promising.

i know the dev posts on Denial and lemon64 forums, but on the Codex?

He seemed to vanish after a while, and I was waiting for him to finish it and play it on an emulator. I have a real 64 to play the other games, hence why I still look about for anything promising.

Put my foot in it that time...

I have a more 'utilitarian' collection. Only original breadboxs collected (prefer 6581 sound) for parts/spares, Commodore monitors and 1541-II drives (older models have psu in the system. overheating problems). I am guessing you are more of a collector now than a user?

I would like some oceanic or other clone drives, but I can never find any for sale outside the US, and then we have that wonderful NTSC rubbish involved.

As for emulation, it just isn't the same to me. I still have a 'commodore' setup in my house, with the Amiga and the C64 side by side.

You don't happen to have a 1571 for sale? :)
