Imperial Legion

Imperial Legion Expansion by AliceL93: this mod is a complete overhaul of the Imperial Legion faction with 8 new quests, bugfixes of vanilla Imperial Legion related bugs, better rewards for advancement and better personality for some of the NPCs, among other features. It also integrates the “Legion Papers” and “Knight of the Imperial Dragon Quarters” mods. Since version 2.1, the mod also includes an optional follower, legionnaire Publius Claudius, which was previously a separate mod.

I installed this, since I heard Tamriel Rebuilt Legion is very good, but you can't join, you need to be a member on Vvardenfell already. And I'm not about to subject myself to the Imperial Toddgion unmodded again.

I've only played the Gnisis quests so far. I think it adds a few more options and flavour, but it's not very intrusive. Having a partner makes any fights too easy, but it turns the quest line into a kind of buddy cop series. I lol'd when he said that Baladas "probably uses the roads that the Empire built", so how dare he refuse to pay taxes? That's some Reddit-tier politics.

Hello, everyone. I was hoping someone could help me with this. A mod I installed (Balmora - The City of Contrasts) apparently has some dependency I didn't know about. It is trying to load a mesh called "Meshes\LLCS\LLCS_rug_rub.nif". Any ideas where this is from? I don't know what "llcs" here means.

closing your game by offering a new quest in which you can prepare for the Nerevarine's eventual expedition to Akavir

The idea of giving Morrowind a gameplay ending makes me wish for a Falloutesque ending slides mod to recap some of the faction and side quest results.

A Morrowind playthrough never ends, it just fades away.

I did install all of those. Didn't find the mesh in any of them.

Any vampire mod to reccomend? Preferentially to make it more akin to daggerfall? Where you do suffer lots of penalties but still can play the game?

This list is fantastic and I intend to spend more time with it once I finish my playthrough (it's not the first time I play MW, but I never stuck with it before). From what I understand, the only patches/mods with inarguable benefits for everyone, including first time players, are Code Patch, Patch for Purists, MGE XE and Optimization Patch. From the content mods, I've only installed Expansion Delay as I don't like being ambushed by the Dark Brotherhood that early (their equipment is too expensive and better than the the other Light Armor you find in shops).

I finished this, but I already got the Chrysamere sword (through random exploring) before I activated the relevant quest, so I never resolved the questline of my follower/buddy. Oh well. Also never realised that there are now quests given by Angoril in Fort Pelagiad, because the quest givers just tell you to "talk to the ranking members at the other forts" without specifying which ones. I didn't think to check Pelagiad. When you become the head of the faction, you get a nice apartment in Ebonheart, but I never bother much with any of the houses, mansions, etc. you can get in-game unless there are quests attached to them.

Didn't see many differences with the base quests otherwise, but all in all a decent addition. I would have preferred it if you could make the follower meet you at appointed Legion forts, rather than having to drag him along to different quest givers. But overall OK. I liked having the option of flashing papers instead of needing a "uniform" (shitty cuirass).

New mod from MelchiorDahrk (and friends) that is probably insanely high quality - Greymarch Dawn - Whispers of Jyggalag. Should go very well with the brand new TR release.

I respect Melchior incredibly, but I always found that his mods don't fit in Morrowind. They are too much. Like his remake of Vos has a tower 4 times taller than vanilla. Some things were designed with specific rationale in mind, like the use of fog in Morrowind.

I think BCOM is the only acceptable town overhaul. Because I know that guy and he personally entered every interior and changed rugs, plates or whatever to the approapriate culture for the dwelling. It has incredible level of polish and measure because it feels like vanilla.

I've been playing with several mods from this list, including some I've never tried before. One interesting thing I've noticed is that More Exclusive Factions has been changed since the last time I checked. A lot of hard exclusions have been removed, and instead it's more dynamic. E.g. Mages Guild characters are locked out of joining the Telvanni, but they can circumvent it by doing a chore for Baladas.

Personally I think this is fine, except that you'd only know about this workaround by reading the description in the mod. So in the end it's more of a LARP than anything. So you're just doing more busywork to arrive at the same result (being able to join both factions).

If they ever update this mod again, my preference would be that you can join both initially, but after the 3rd promotion (where you have to pay guild dues in the MG, or get adopted by Aryon in Telvanni) you have to choose between the one or the other. The way I've always interpreted it is that the lower ranks of factions are just freelancers basically, with only the native Great Houses being lifetime commitments. Hence why you get adopted into a Great House after doing minor chores, and you get the title of Kinsman/Mouth. So when you commit to the higher ranks of the Telvanni, the game should tell you that you'll get expelled from the Guild or vice versa. Same with Redoran - Legion. Only Hlaalu should probably not have any exclusivity with Imperial guilds, since they are pro-Imperial and Thieves Guild membership is not really a public thing.

This will offer the most ultra lightweight needs, survival and life sim setup.

Mods—
simple hunger, thirst, sleep system, and not the bloated mess that Ashfall is
stat penalties in harsh weather + icy water of sosltheim
unlevelled creatures
real time fishing and mining

All of these work seamlessly the moment you install with no custom assets and only a single config menu to do once for the hunger mod.

I feel similarly about some of his mods, but he is absolutely the man and I cannot play Morrowind anymore without his Grahtwood giant trees mod.

I recently finished updating my (now close to 400) mod setup on Steam Deck and been replaying while waiting for the Red Dead Redemption 1 release next week, and every time I start a new character (or at least one that starts in Seyda Neen) I marvel at how awesome they look. I realize it is similar to your complaint about his Vos tower (I don't use his Grazelands overhaul for the same reason) but for those I make an exception.

Getting everything to where I could actually mod Morrowind with MO 2 and run the necessary executables from within it (MGE XE, the million MWSE mods I use, Wrye Mash and tes3cmd, TES 3 Merge) was a project unto itself but I finally figured it all out and now can udpate or add to my mods, regenerate distant land and properly merge everything on Steam Deck and it is seriously fun.

I can't wait for the upcoming Project Cyrodiil and Tamriel Rebuilt updates that are coming, though.
