"Correct" is a very subjective concept.
True, but you've already found yourself targeted by several people on accounts of the way you act; if it was a "more correct" way (not "the correct way", mind you), i wouldn't manifest myself on this. I'd wager that me, Astro, and EvoG probably don't mean much to you in terms of constructive criticism on how you act, but as been pointed out already, the point isn't for you to change, but rather, to realize your position and how much of the statements you make are actually not benefitial for the Codex. As Astro pointed out, hey, maybe it actually is a staple of the site, and i've been looking at the site and the staff in an utterly wrong way. I couldn't agree more with Astro's "split personality" remark. Perhaps intelligent discussion was the facade itself, not the burning down of those less knowledgable in CRPGs, or the overal industry for that matter. Perhaps that was always the point, and i failed to realize it all this time (hell, perhaps Rosh is a physical manifestation of the attitude, fed by the souls of the newbs who come here :shock
. I'd apreciate it if i was told exactly what is the agenda, and how much of the staff are actually supporting it, so i can carefully deliberate on the need for my presence and attitude here.
Actively seek out? I'd hate to think that you are stupid, so I'd assume that you are simply repeating something stupid you heard elsewhere. We seek RPG reviews and post them. Given a choice, I'd rather be posting news about RPGs that I like. Unfortunately, I don't get a choice since everybody and their fucking dog are busy writing KOTOR reviews. So if you'd like to avoid being called unpleasant names, think before you post and do some research.
Thats another brilliant example of my lapses
The point is you seek out to make attacks on reviewers, and on things we already know. Damn, i already know everyone and their chiuaua thinks KoTORs combat is turn-based. I already know everyone thinks KoTOR is
teh win!. I already know how you feel on these things. Frankly, i'd like to know other things beyond that. And like EvoG and Astromarine pointed out, i'd like to read more about the games i like than about the games i don't. In a way, at a certain point everything boils down to bashing either Bioware or people who praise them. There are more reports about Bioware games than about other games. And this is after a certain FAQ was put together by Exitium on how
not to post.
When i started becoming a regular i enjoyed coming here every morning, hair messed up, with a cup of coffee barely waking me up, sit down, and read the news. It was the part of the site i went to first, even. Now its like i'm reading an 1984 newspaper, with yet more proof of how devious the enemies of Big Brother are, with your headline being nothing more than a 2 Minutes of Hate most of the times.
Kinda makes the point of visiting the site for fresh content become void, when i just know tomorrow VD will kick another casual gamer with another misinformed Bioware-related review.
Yeah, good ol' days. You mean when we had a 14-pages behemoth of a thread called
What is it about Bioware? That was fun. You claimed that Bio saved DnD license and other silly things
Which were indeed good days, because that's when i got to wonder "Hey, maybe i am wrong. And these guys do make some good points. Lets see what i can dig up and learn". I'd be a fool if i said i didn't learn anything from that time period, or if i said i haven't liked my stay here. I'd even be a liar if i said i wouldn't miss spending time here with most of you. However, i wonder how much of it still is the same.
You wouldn't be implying that my attitude changed after I joined the staff. Unlike you, I'm consistent in my opinions and beliefs
Come again? Where am i inconsistent with my views? If i change my point of view, it's because i concede my former opinion was wrong; neither do i do the opposite of what i think as well. If you're aiming up for weak spots, you're going to have to do a better job.
I agree, maybe it's not nice, but then again, I've never claimed to be nice.
It's not a question of being nice, or politically correct; its about determining if there is a point to making the same points, or make many points that always promote the same attitude.
Where did you get my picture? :D
Here.
