We obviously need to be able to speak freely (and occasionally loudly) to discuss any given topic honestly. 50 years ago we'd be doing the same in our favorite pub.

Depends on how well you train the dog when it's little. Naturally, a breed's temperament might also play a role.

On the other hand, to give an example of bad training rather than lack of training altogether, I recall some local news from way back when an unmuzzled dog attacked a guy reading a newspaper in the park because... the dog's owner made a habit of punishing the dog by 'beating' it with a rolled newspaper.

Unleashed dogs typically aren't the ones jumping on people. Its pups and untrained, leashed dogs that like to jump. Stay away from shitbulls.

I've seen the kinds of posts in the Balkan thread that Licktherice makes, and 1 out of 10 of his posts can be said to have been written in proper (fluent) Serbian. And I'm not talking about literature, "real" Serbian either, anything that resembles how Serbs speak every day will suffice. Licktherice does not speak fluent Serbian, it's a very broken kind of Serbian he uses, and it reminds of people who are acquainted with the language and can make roughly intelligible sentences, but clearly they're not accustomed to speaking it daily and in any situation. Basically, it's like he learned it as a child, but since he didn't grow up surrounded by his (now former) people, he never got the ability to speak it truly "as one of Serbs" (I mean, he no longer is a Serb to be honest...).

And it's not a matter of dialect either, for example Croatian Dalmatians sound horrible to my ears, but they are consistent and coherent in their own way. Our "talk the talk" communist is something else.

The last US election was pretty rough, several good posters decided to leave, and the overall mood has soured, though this also began with the coof to some extent. These bad streaks tend to confirm our pessimistic tendencies and make us feel that whatever can go wrong will go wrong. It's a sign of the times.

Yes. And the black people here know it and take full advantage of it lol. White Americans are so totally mentally defeated they can not find it in themselves to share or even think a negative word about a black person unless they personally witnessed them burning a small village. And even then they have a novels worth of excuses. This country is beyond saving, and wouldn't be worth it even if it wasn't.

As to her hysteria, remember that this was during the George Floyd lunacy and some black guy is ambushing her and now videoing her. Her life is basically over at that point and she knows it.

This sort of thing breeds copycats as well. There was a similar incident last year with a black man who chased down a white woman and started filming her, threatening to tell everyone she was a racist as some kind of prank. She starts freaking out and crying because being accused of being a racist in this oh-so-free country of ours can lose you everything. That's what incidents like this prove.

Regardless of what you think of either of these people, her being fired, publicly humiliated and threatened with jail time are all far in excess of what a normal society should punish someone with in an incident that ultimately resulted in no damages to either party.
