Also, another reason why rez chambers were well implemented in SS2, was because they were rare, and after respawning you usually had to run through shitloads of corridors filled with enemies who were also respawning, and given the breaking of guns and nearly constant lack of ammo it was damn challenging, so in the end it was better to just make a quick-load than to respawn three floors below your previous location.

Oldie aber goldie.

Turrican 2 is fucking brilliant. Even if it was just a German Metroid clone.

It's not a fucking clone... but they did steal "large areas filled with secrets" from it.

It's fucking brilliant though. Best game ever. [srsly]

Um, isn't this a design flaw? I mean, with no hard-coded ironman mode or limited saves, people would always quickload unless respawning gives some advantage like in this case, at which point it becomes a retarded cheat. Fuck the whole thing and take the D2 route for Diablo clones. In other games, make the players reload.

Nobody forced you to do quick saves, and it could use as a good failsafe incase you forgot to make a quick save, so imo it's not a design flaw but even if it should be perceived as such, it's much less of a design flaw than checkpoints with the sign "cloning U for a better tomorrow" around every fucking corner in something that is supposed to be at least a bit of a horror game.
