Does adding all these "rpg elements" actually make the game better than say putting this much effort to making ass creed a proper stealth-action title?
Nope but it sells more, and that is important for aaa games.Does adding all these "rpg elements" actually make the game better than say putting this much effort to making ass creed a proper stealth-action title?
Game is superior to Syndicate, that's for sure. Also, for what I've seen open world is much better, not only repeatable things, but secrets, puzzles and world looks very good.Does adding all these "rpg elements" actually make the game better than say putting this much effort to making ass creed a proper stealth-action title?
Everybody likes the feeling he is doing something complicated, while doing something simple.Nope but it sells more, and that is important for aaa games.Does adding all these "rpg elements" actually make the game better than say putting this much effort to making ass creed a proper stealth-action title?
Casuals love buying into mechanics that aren't complicated but sound complicated.
Does it have a lot of SJW?

I suspect that could be a bug, but given that they've really pert boobs I prefer to think of it as a feature. I was killed by a passing patrol while distracted by the well rendered assets of a quest giver and when the game reloaded she was fully clothed. If you are interested, the game casually features topless women.Does it have a lot of SJW?

I've completed 30 missions and I haven't noticed the game pushing any particular agenda. I guess if people dig hard enough they'll find something that'll offend them. On one mission Bayek chides a priest who has being helping the downtrodden "You're here to serve the Gods, not the people" so that's socialists and fedora tippers triggered. If anything, Bayek is a respectful, family-orientated man who honors the gods and traditions of his people, so if there's an SJW on the planet capable of looking past the fact Bayek is brown they'd recognize the sneaky conservative agenda Ubisoft is pushing. There'd be a thread on Neo-Gaf right now explaining how Trump and GamerGate ruined Assassins Creed.
From what I've played, you're in the role of an ancient Egyptian paladin, riding around helping people and killing things. It's actually really old-fashioned in it's storytelling, like some cheesy '80s adventure TV show. You're playing Knight Rider except K.I.T.T. is a camel and Devon Miles is an eagle.
I spent quite a while wearing the cat's head helmet just to cover up his stupid hair, but at a certain point in the story his wife shaves his head and beard. I guess this proves conclusively that AC:O isn't an RPG, because real hardcore GOTY RPGs feature multiple hair-style and beard options.I just hope he gets rid of his un-Egyptian beard soon.
Ok,thanks mate. May download it if i get bored enough to play as unrealistic black Egyptian. The rest of the shit feels ok from what i read. It seems that the game is not SJW trash like wolfi, and it seems that it is doing better. Also is Caesar the evil nazi?I suspect that could be a bug, but given that they've really pert boobs I prefer to think of it as a feature. I haven't met Caesar yet. The game starts in 49 BC, so it'll need to jump forward a year for Caesar to show up. I did met Cleopatra though. She's a skank. My money is on them both being portrayed as self-serving and power hungry with straight-laced Bayek turning against them at some point. The storytelling has been very conventional in this game. It's almost as if it's trying to stay as middle-of-the-road as possible. Also is Caesar the evil nazi?

There are some good simulationist elements and emergent behavior. Like mounted guard patrols actually do patrol: they go from place to place along their routes, dismount, inspect the location on foot, and then remount. They caught me out a few time by arriving back at their home fort while I was strolling around in the open, spattered in blood and trying to look innocent. Once I was being chased by two guards in a patrol boat. I set it ablaze with a fire arrow and watched it slowly sink as some nearby crocodiles closed in on the poor sods. Another time a mission had me chasing a horse thief, but a passing mounted patrol killed the thief for me and all I had to do was saunter over and mount the horse. Easiest shitty chase mission ever. My favorite moment was clambering up the mast of my rapidly sinking boat while aiming an arrow at the gaping mouth of an enraged hippo and muttering to myself "smile you son of a bitch". None of that stuff was mission scripting. It was all just sandbox behavior. The day night cycles, while not extremely detailed, are a nice touch, when you can sneak in camps where some of the the soldiers (and the captain) are asleep. Stores seem to be open 24/7 though. But quest givers wander about.

The overall package is much better than I expected even if it's still an AC game at it's core with many of the same old problems.
Assassin's Creed Origins has taken the UK chart top spot with physical sales roughly equal to that of Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
Physical sales on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were just a few copies lower than Syndicate's equivalent total back in 2015, although the rise of digital sales since then will likely push Origins' overall result comfortably higher.
(UK numbers company Chart-Track does not count digital console or PC sales.)
Still, Syndicate marked a low sales point in the Assassin's Creed franchise, so coming in at around the same total is not too much cause for celebration. Syndicate was the lowest-selling in the series except for 2014's Rogue, which was designed as a game for last-gen consoles and released alongside 2014's other AC game, Unity.
Well given that there wasn't a Grand Theft Auto release this year, it's the closet thing. I was willing to give it some sort of participation award as an aRPG lite for the first dozen levels or so, there was a sense of character progression, but after that the mechanics fall to pieces. The Diablo loot treadmill becomes irrelevant after obtaining legendary gear, and the enemy levels become binary: either it's a red skull or it isn't. It's a straight up action game at that point with the red skulls acting as a gating device. You could move this thread to theRPGOTY 2017
(Hey, it's the closest thing to Witcher 3 this year, right?)
