I have not watched any of the videos Infinitron is linking. I would bet real money that they are all avoiding the woke nonsense because the point is to sell this game in the wake of Failguard. "You have to buy the game to find out how much woke is in the game."

This is nothing new. Pronouns were put in games before (Solasta: Crown of the Magister comes to mind). At this point avoiding genders (using numbers or "body types", for example) and/or using "they" pronoun for characters became industry standard. But apparently some people didn't realize it yet. So calling it "Battle of Titans" is quite meh. We need something more for a serious contender.

And having companions is what allows having woke companions. It's not romance that's the issue, but the writers behind it.
