All this bitching and none of you mentioned that the game doesn't use a grid for combat? That is clearly the single worst design decision. Decline of codex.
D&D use grid as an optional rule, because is simpler.

the rules are written with free movement and free spell positioning in mind.

this is why there is tons of stuff with radious and sphere effect.

just saw from a random video that the cleric domains are 3 and are named pretty retarded. is this from dnd or larian going the genre forward one gameplay feature at the time?

Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Alignment Is Gone
In D&D, a player determines their alignment at character creation, which represents a loose set of ethics and morals that they will follow. Alignment rarely comes up as an in-game mechanic in the current edition of D&D, especially when compared to the older iterations of the game, where classes were often locked behind alignments.

In Baldur's Gate 3, a player is free to decide how their character will act at any time. The player's choices will brand the character with certain tags, which will allow them to use certain dialogue options in conversation, such as a Cleric knowing about a religion or a Dwarf knowing dwarven history.

Based on their D:OS2 system. Even in a D&D game Larian manages to infect it with their retarded system design.

In D:OS2, you were restricted from selecting certain evil dialogue options unless you acquired the Villain tag during regular gameplay. Just awful.

Wait, what's up with that "choose who you're attracted to" screen? Is it a shopped chargen? And if it's not, why does the game need to know I like busty, blonde elves?
It comes up at the end of character creation. Not sure, but I assume it's either for some Fiend or Illithid mind games.

Does that appear for everyone when rolling? I saw it just earlier in some guy's Warlock play and assumed it's a class-specific narrative element.

Ah. I'm gonna assume it's the form the tadpole will take to try and persuade you, yeah.

One person wrote a comment and you were so butt hurt about it that you had to do a side by side comparison of every spell in the game. The worse part is you're acting like it was a significant amount of people when nobody is even making the complaint. I'm just glad larian finally found a single thing to be inspired by based off of the originals; a spell icon.
I know you are not dumb, so it's hard for me to explain this comment.

"Every spell in the game" = Grease and Sleep.

And yes, a significant amount of people is criticizing this game without actually being knowledgeable enough about the Baldur's Gate series. There are a lot of aspects that should cause due criticism, and "spell icons not true to the original" is not one of them.

Also, stop acting like a dumbfuck: "nobody is even making the complaint"?

I get wanting to improve the interface over Infinity Engine games. It wasn't the best. But I'd take that over these miniscule looking icons and vague symbols that could mean anything. What does the pig mean? Is that Polymoprh? Summon Familiar? The hand is MageHand right? Or paralysis? It's blue so is it some kind of frost spell instead? Larian are just so awful at design.
Here, he is making the complaint. Exactly like the other guy criticizing Larian because the pig as icon for Grease is not funny.

Domains have always been really base line names for dnd since implementation.

Life, War, Light.. etc.

Barrels and cheese is pretty true to the 5e experience.
