It's hard to rate on a 1 to 10 scale; 7 sounds about right but that implies mediocrity. Instead what we have here is a mix of excellent design in some areas and awful design in others which makes it more interesting than a simply mediocre experience but also a frustrating one at times.

I felt the same way about D:OS2 except that in the balance D:OS2 just wasn't fun and BG3 mostly is.
