Listening to this wanker rant for 10 minutes about how Larian made BG3 with love just makes you want to chuck. It's a total obfuscation of reality.

This twat claims that Larian was passionate about Baldur's Gate and that is why they purchased the rights to make BG3 from WotC. Apparently this is proof of Larian's passion and love. This is like claiming Bethesda are passionate about Fallout because they bought the rights from Interplay. Because it's not like Bethesda saw the value in the brand name or anything and thought they could make lots of money. No way! Fallout 3 was made with nothing but LOVE! Why else would they make a Fallout game???

This begs the question; do these autists feel even an ounce of cognitive dissonance from their shit takes? Or are they just completely stupid?

People just want to fool themselves into believe that any of these companies are their friends and just hecking wholesome. At end of the day Larian is just another company and will do anything to make money. Otherwise they wouldn't have sand off the edges some of their characters so the general public would enjoy their character easier , made everyone ''pansexual'' or whatever so people wouldn't feel bad about not kissing their favorite character or dial back on the Illithid power so much that there's no consequences for using it.

It does seem gaming journalists and furries love it, but is this also true for the general audience? Maybe those public Steam achievement stats can provide information, but I haven't dared to look.

And it is still cool now. In particular if compared to games with static non interactable world, where you need press "tab" to indentify which is the single interactable door you are supposed to open among the fake ones.

If Swen had any love of Ultima the last trace of it died before Original Sin 1 even had a full release. Once Larian had critical acclaim and money on their side further progress just stopped at barrelmancy.

I had no hate for Larian at all until they touched BG3. In fact, the initial CGI trailer hyped me and I was looking forward to Larian leveling up their craft. But the gameplay reveal I got was Swen demonstrating barrelmancy on a sunny beach environment that looked strikingly identical to their previous 2 games. My hate for Larian is justified and well deserved.
