Baldur's Gate 3 Enters Early Access
Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally ready for you to play it.
Today at 10am PT, we’re going to hit the big green button so you can start playing the start of Baldur’s Gate 3’s Early Access journey, and I can say with confidence each one of the 300 people who helped to make this game, are honored to have you aboard.
We’ll keep this short, because you’ve been patient. The road ahead is going to be exciting, and we’re happy to have you along for the journey. It’ll make us, and the game, stronger. Together, we’ll be a part of creating our deepest, most ambitious RPG yet.
We hope you have fun playing. Since Early Access rolls out what are essentially live development builds, there will be bugs and glitches here and there, but we’ve tried to create a fully cinematic RPG that you can play again and again, with new characters and new permutations, in between our frequent updates.
We hope to see you in the forums, and if you’ve any questions, head to the FAQ.
Until then, join us on social media in celebration of the team, and our players!
Thank you,
Larian
IN DEVELOPMENT: BALDUR’S GATE III
Take the chance to return to Faerûn, a magic land that needs heroes more than ever. A vicious cult marches across the Sword Coast, uniting every race of monsters and men under the banner of a cryptic god they call the Absolute.
As chaos strikes at Faerûn's foundations, not even you may escape its talons. Imprisoned by the mind flayers, you're being infected with their horrid parasite. Before you can become one of them, mind flyers’ airship crashes in the Sword Coast outlands. You set out for civilization, desperate for a cure for the parasite festering in your brain… only to discover that all roads lead to the legendary city of Baldur's Gate.
Baldur’s Gate III is now available as the DRM-free game in development on GOG.COM! This version of the game gives you a complete narrative adventure of Act I, spanning over 20 hours of a single play-through, including a tutorial. It features 46,000 lines of dialogue, 600 characters to meet, 146 spells & actions, 80 combats, and a large area to explore.
Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

It became more popular than 2e because it was dumbed down and streamlined. All the people that got filtered by thac0 and 2e's lethality finally got their chance. And it remains popular to this day because of munchkinry. 3.5 let all those number autists feel powerful, especially combined with imbalanced as fuck splatbooks and weak DMs who didn't know any better. 5e does not allow you to stroke your epeen by theorycrafting "busted" builds nearly to the same degree, and so these people detest it even though it's the second best DnD edition after 2e.I never understood why 3e/3.5e is so popular. Heavily dumbed down and streamlined compared to AD&D.
Huh? You can say a lot of things about BG3, but "nostalgia driven" is not how I'd describe it.Is anyone else giddy with excitement for this to fail hard like all the other nostalgia driven cash grabs before?

Not enough to pay us though right. Check out the hordes of fuckoes just rushing to beta test the little product. Amazing truly. Truly the modern man is waiting for the spoon to feed him as he stares into the abyss. However, I have to say that I Cannot Wait To Enjoy This Game, and am slaming my head violently agaisnt the walls as the download cannot finish fast enough eeeeeeeEEEEEAEEEEEEHHHHHHEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
But, but, Twitch Integration!I don't know why anyone would want to watch a streamer play an RPG, especially if it has a D&D style character creation system.
