Sure.
Intercept the invading forces and destroy the forward bases.
It was how I survived orc invasion.
I destroyed like half dozen forward camps and it make invading forces smaller(and make the rest walk longer distances).
Then make mistake and do some missions in the other part of the map. They destroy the village but then i returned intercept invading forces and destroyed dozen parities and some camps.
Orc invasion come from actual places and move alongside the easiest route so if you park on their way you can deal with them let human forces handle the rest.
They balanced it and its actually pretty manageable right now.

has nimble been nerfed or not rly?

I cant rly tell, lke u get around 100more hp from armor but take some 10% dmg more afterwards, Ithink it def means you dont have to take iron brow since u can afford heavier helmets

It get nerfed for shirt/straw hat builds but boosted for actual light/medium armors/light helmets.
It makes more sense but its still could use some work.
Also heavy armors are really too underwhelming now.

Preview of Ravens Mercenary company.
Builds, function also what went wrong. Played 250+ days and two crisis on E/E/L/ironmeme(with little savescuming)

First my core - troops that I wish to keep.
PWVR0yc.jpg

Rally the troops polearm user
Good talents, High Resolve and good attack score. Low Ranged defense but with new Nimble he simply don't care. Unique Polarm make him real killer. I don't think I use banner on him once.
Perfect perk build for this sort of trooper. Could use more Fatigue - if he opnly get Talent in FAT instead of Ranged Defense. Cheap upkeep.

1Z74I1E.jpg

Axe bro. Solid Heavy armored two handed build. One perk wasted on Gifted. Great attack stats. Little low on FAT. I feel that he would be better as Nimble light armored two hander with Overwhelm and maybe Reach advantage or Indomitable(at the cost of Gifted and Brawny). Getting injured often.

IAv7TQf.jpg

Brawler. Perfect talents, no Traits. Two Handed swordsmen(polearm just for show). Mixed medium armor user. Kind of caught into transition trap. Still great both defense offense and FAT. Mediocre Resolve. Again. Going full Nimble and dropping Gifted/Brawny/Battleforged for Berserk/Battle frenzy/Reach Advantage would probably serve him better. He simply cannot use full power of his large FAT pool right now.

UNuC0kj.jpg

Boyer. Taken only for Bow event - but he prove himself skilled enough to earn his place. Dunno why he has Brawny - either missclick or planned to make him Xbow armored user. Gifted is not actually and for Bow users as it grant extra hit chance. Low FAT for a archer. Still I would change both Gifted and Brawny for some better suited perks(Yeah even Bags and Belts). Nimble and some Ranged Def is all I need to keep him safe. Also Cheap.

6tdMqP1.jpg

Crossbow Bro. Great Archer. Again Gifted is somewhat questionable. I would drop Dodge - is simply not necessary. Maybe Footwork and Bags and Belts but to be honest archers are much less starved for perks right now. Thanks Nimble.

WhZcEFi.jpg

Brawler. Good talent distribution. Great attributes. Could use more FAT but anyone could use more FAT. Brawny is remnant of me planning go heavy armor route and the same goes for Gifted.
Would switch Brawny for Indomitable and maybe Gifted for Shield Expert(mostly for extra shield durability). Maces are great and he have amazing unique. Fearsome or Crippling strikes(more likely) wouldn't be a bad choice for him either.

elyhHgl.jpg

Another Brawler. Paranoid Iron Jaw missing Ear bastard. His talent distribution isn't great. He is lacking FAT also. Have BattleForged instead of Overwhelm(as his Init is low as can be). Still he made it for his toughness(never injured in life - outside when he was strike down) and amazing attack score - can stun for life.

THKhHU1.jpg

Knight. I am somewhat uncertain if he is worthy enough to keep. Sure good stats but talents aren't the best(no FAT and no Attack). He had very high(almost max) rolls on his 5 first levels so he made for it somehow still he cost a lot and will cost more. Uncertain if I should go heavy or mixed or light. Thematically I would go heavy but he lack FAT for that and heavies aren't that desirable now.

Secondly my planned to retire at some point troops. All are veterans of countless battles and some even promoted from throw away early troops.
Overall mixed bunch. With mixed perks, bad level ups and great luck.

nVvVqdG.png

Monk and original Sarge. Bad talents still decent Resolve, Attack and FAT. LACK of RECOVERY is his biggest downside. Armed with Unique axe even if he was using Polearm before(he was using that amazing Unique Polearm). Backstabber taken to increase his attack score(at the cost of Battle Frenzy). Battleforged completely unnecessary - should taken Recovery.

K4LOzoq.png

Daytaler - Iron Lungs. Cheap and quite decent with good overall stats. Could keep him as he also have decent build. Nothing amazing to be honest but pretty solid. He don't excel at anything - still his good stats and good defense score keep him alive. Could switch Gifted and or Brawny for Indomitable and/or Reach Advantage but then he would suffer FAT deficiency. Not bad for medium armor user. Especially from that low tier background.

pUPH6xk.png

Squire. Not good talents but great starting attributes. Little better defense and more HP than Daytaler but lack iron Lungs. Lack good attack score - Backstabber try to remedy this(but maybe Fast adaptation would be better for two hander user. Not impresed - he is 2x more costly than Daytaler - he definitely lack good talents. Overall not bad but little too costly for what he bring.

SUNMwqp.png

Drunken Poacher. He wasn't drunkard when he join tho. He just see too much shit. Cheap and with Great FAT. Good support archer - but his low attack score make him unreliable on long distances. Dodge unnecessary. Lone wolf taken as experiment - to increase his attack scores but its not really convenient to use. His attack score is to low to benefit greatly - and he isn't good at long range.

rpmde8m.png

4pzykDk.png

bw0kJyf.png

Three Guards - Brawler, Caravan Guard and Militiamen. Similar talents and attributes. Overall solid shield bros but could use some perks exchange.
>Brawler - Greedy and to costly compared to other ones. Could switch Battleforged for either Shield Expert or Indomitable.
>Caravan Guard - cheapest one, best perk choice from three one perk in reserve
>Militiamen - Lack Recovery(instead he have Battleforged)
Overall they serve well on battlefield as a anvil.

amq1u1I.png

gVXQ6Bt.jpg

DswmYhC.png

Three Lancers. Caravan guard, Militiamen and messenger. messenger is lucky enough throwaway that survive long enough.
>Caravan Guard - cheap, solid attributes, unnecessary Battleforged(should take Shield Expert instead).
>Militiamen - amazing Defense score, low FAT, NO RECOVERY(should taken it instead of Indomitable).
>Messenger -low both Resolve and Defense compared to two other, really cheap, unnecessary Battleforged(miss Recovery and Spear Expertise).

Any questions?

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I'm a bit confused with Nimble.. You seem to be getting it even for bros with shields and heavy-ish armors. Isn't battleforged better in these cases?

Shields don't matter. They don't affect Nimble anymore. the same goes for weapons.
And ~30% damage reduction for HP for medium armors is great for avoiding injuries and surviving bolts to the head.

so what armor is best now for nimble? what is considered medium armor? 150-200?
i have 2 bros with nimble one with 180 mail hauberk and other is 210 with reinforced MH.

1rsxpGg.png

For light armor either Uniques or Noble mail plus attachments. Leather scale or Mail hauberk for regular armor.
For medium Uniques with attachments blow everything but Footman armor is pretty decent(with wolfskin) and there is always Scale armor. I am not sure if getting heavier armor is worth with Nimble even if working together with Battleforged.
There is that one attachment that reduce weight of body armor about 20% but couldn't make it yet. With it and unique helmet and body armor even heavy armors can be working with Nimble(as afar as you get under 45 Fatigue in both).
Biggest downside in heavy armor is nerfed Battleforged. And lack of FAT.
To be honest I don't even see point in using medium armor at all. Unless you get Unqiues or use both Nimble and Battleforged and then still its not really tempting.

Maybe later i slap this mod for unlocking all perks from the start, grab nimble and battleforged for every lvl 1 bro and do some testing from start to late game with standard armor progression. Or maybe not, because i'm lazy.

Also today i saw battle brothers in my dreams. "Horde" of 6 wiedergangers was descending from the hill on my spearwall. And then my phone rang.

Speaking of Nimble...

Update 1.2.0.21
20. DEZEMBER - RAPSDJFF
5446e39a156af8b0290c4e03bbb0b7fcc53e4d70.jpg

As a small christmas gift, this update adds a new blood red variant of all common helmets. They're available for purchase in shops and as loot for everyone, and owners of the 'Beasts & Exploration' DLC can also dye helmets in red. No new campaign is required, but it'll take a couple of days for the new helmets and paint item to show up in shops around the world.

The update also brings another adjustment to the balance of the Nimble perk. Alps are on our list of things to look at, but they'll have to wait until after the holidays. Until then, merry christmas and happy holidays to you!

Changelog for 1.2.0.21
  • Added blood-red variants of all common helmets.
  • Added new recipe for crafting red paint.

  • Changed 'Nimble' perk to grant damage reduction to hitpoints up to 60%, down from 66%, lowered exponentially by the total penalty to maximum fatigue by head and body armor after the first 15 points.
  • Changed three-headed flails to no longer potentially lose durability with each connecting strike, but only once per skill use.
  • Changed 'Lunge' skill of fencing sword to no longer calculate its damage bonus after fatigue from current skill use is applied, but before. Effectively, the skill will do more damage now.
  • Changed events for legendary locations to now automatically dump the lowest value item from your inventory, if the inventory happens to be entirely full, in order to make room for legendary item rewards.

  • Fixed 'Famed Explorer' achievement not registering as completed.
  • Fixed crash on fleeing Lindwurm dying while attempting to leave a zone of control.
  • Fixed crash on Irrlichts dying to bleeding damage right while they're ensnaring someone.
  • Fixed issue with ambitions to discover legendary locations not working properly.
  • Fixed issue with combat in 'Raid Caravan' contract not working properly.
  • Fixed issue with loot not working properly as Wiedergangers reanimate right after clicking to end the battle via dialog.
  • Fixed issue with Saplings and Wiedergängers potentially showing as stuck in the ground if attacked during their initial raising-from-the-ground animation.
  • Fixed permanent injury visuals still showing on characters after being cured with a certain item.
  • Fixed named two-handed flails having no improved values over their common counterparts. The fix only applies to weapons generated after the update.
  • Fixed various minor issues.

I have to say that the stability suffered a bit with the DLC.

It's not crashing constantly, but every 2-3 hours the game freezes and I can only 'Alt-F4' out of it.

I encountered a handful - if that - of crashes to desktop in EA, but in over 1400 hours there weren't any freezes I can remember with the vanilla game.

Edit: This is the exact moment of the freeze: the graphic below (the turn order, or whatever you call it) comes in. Maybe it has something to do with using the new 'End Round' button?

Maybe it's only my system, but this happened multiple times now at the end of the fight. Possibly an overlap of the 'The Enemy Retreats' Graphic on screen and the 'Do you really want to end the round' graphic?

Haven't had the issue either.

Well, Nimble changed twice since I started my Nimble Ninnies company. Guess I can pivot to light armor mode instead of nude daggermen.

Had it once. It's not freeze. I tried pressing other buttons and i think retreat responded. After this i cancelled retreat and fight ended.

The changes, correct me if I'm wrong, don't seem to be a huge deal unless you've been using maximal naked nimblebros? I've even been combining it with Brawny in some cases and generally using light/medium armour, and it doesn't seem to change a whole lot.

In other news, just took out 4 lindwurms without a scratch. Feels like once you have two or three dudes with 50+ mdef, you can shieldwall and sit there indefinitely. And they're a lot easier to kill off than Schrats.

^^ yeah, thats some kind of a race condition. Some of the UI clashes with some animation maybe, try to hit Esc, or End turn keys on the keyboard. In different combos. I managed to break out of it when it appeared.

Never had a crash with the DLC.
The only thing I've noticed is the following: I have two screens and when I move my mouse to the second one to browse or sth, Battle Brothers will display a somewhat earlier screen at least for a while.
For example if it's after a battle and after I've looted stuff on the world map - it might display the loot screen for a while.
Not even something that really affects performance or anything - just weird
