Everything is included in it: The Book of id, T-shirt, Dog tags, DOOM Comic book, Poster, Cyberdemon figurine, and id calling card.
I helped to put this anthology together with a design firm, Marc Laidlaw, Tom Hall, and Adrian Carmack. This was my last project connected to id Software after I left.
This collection encompasses all the games I helped create at id Software from our founding until I left after finishing Quake. So it includes all our vintage games like Hovertank One, Rescue Rover, Dangerous Dave, and all 7 of the Keen games, among others.
The Book of id was written by Marc Laidlaw, the eventual writer of Valve's games such as Half-Life 1 & 2, Portal, etc. It's an excellent story about the beginning of our company that helps augment Masters of DOOM. There's a lot of great photos in the Book of id as well.
Words of wisdom from former Obsidianite Nathaniel Chapman:
Incidentally this is also how to become a good Codex poster.

Because making movies is hard.I don't understand, why would you pursue a career in game design if you have no interest in playing games?

Nerd Nostalgia: So, in 1997(?) several of us were staying up late working on Thief, and we were excited because Daylight Savings Time was going to give us an extra hour to work (!!!!). When it came time to "fall back," our computers saw all of our changes were timestamped "in the past" and didn't need to be recompiled. We spent like 55 minutes fixing the problem, netting ourselves about 5 minutes of bonus work time.
Note that it's not yet as bad as the headline makes it sound.Much transactions.

Notably, one of its top highlights for the quarter was a 66 percent year-over-year increase in net revenue from "recurrent consumer spending" -- that is, purchases of DLC, in-game currency, and other microtransactions.

"It may not always be an online model, it probably won't always be a virtual currency model, but there will be some ability to engage in an ongoing basis with our titles after release across the board. That's a sea change in our business."
- Take-Two chief Strauss Zelnick, speaking to investors on a conference call today.
"I'm all about BLOOD, NUKES, EarthQUAKEs... and B. F. G."
Hellbound is the latest PC title by Saibot Studios, the team behind popular horror series Doorways. Inspired by DOOM, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Blood and many other shooters of the past, the game experience is focused on shooting, explosions, blood and speed. You have never played something so GROTESQUE!
Players take control of Hellgore, a big-ass motherf*cker who kills demons in Hell. That’s it. Is there a story behind all this? Well… yes, there’s a story, but it's not that important! The real protagonists are the fast-paced action and the gory violence.
Hellbound will be available very soon in PC, first as a Survival Mode that will equip players with the heaviest fire guns of Hell to pit them against hordes of fearsome demons and other monstrous enemies. Closed beta registration is now open on the official Website.
