Looks gay as fuck. Would rather have a game based on Mr. Kitters.

I'm replaying some TES games now and across all of Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim a funny thing I've found is that the one constant is that the tallest race is objectively the best. The reason is that Bethesda cuts corners on animations and has a universal animation for all player races, which means the taller ones get an inherent movement rate bonus proportional to their height. How did that get Todd's stamp of approval?

I seriously doubt the character animations have any influence on actual movement speed in this engine, it's rollerskate galore anyway.

They don't directly, but the characters have their speed adjusted so that the taller characters with longer legs move faster in order to fit with the animations better.

EDIT: Apparently for Morrowind it gets increased based on character weight, for Oblivion and Skyrim its height.

.... Why was Harrison Ford at the game awards.... ?
Troy Baker won the award for best performace as Indiana Jones in that new Indiana Jones game, and Harrison Ford gave him the award (and thought Troy did a good job as Indy).

Note that the new Indy game came out four days before the Game Awards took place. Do with that information what you want.

I really hope Troy Baker's pants are also shopped.
Nope. He's wearing them past Todd's elbows.

Wouldn't you reduce the speed of animation to match speed of movement instead?

The whole Game Awards seems incredibly corrupt.
Well, it's to be expected. Keighley's parents were (and still are) the top executives at IMAX. When Cybermania 1994 was organized, Keighley's dad pulled some strings to get his dumbass son to be part of the show, and the rest is history. It's never been about games or gamers, it's just an event for executives to mingle with Hollywood stars.

It's almost as if gaming going mainstream was a curse to begin with.
I always said that.
Back in the day it was a relatively "fringe" hobby pursued by the nerds and geeks.
Now it has become part of the mainstream and everything it entails.
It has been casualized.
