What was actually 'great' about Bloodlines? Tits? Gore? Jerky animations? The linear story (with lots of fake choices)? Jeanette? Goth music?

Meh, I finished it only once. The absurd amount of filler combat (with awful combat mechanics, I might add) killed the game for me. I don't care how good the story is if the game is shit to play. And since it's a completely linear game, you can't really enjoy it for its story more than once.

R00fles!

Lets put it like this: I don't like Goth music. I don't like night clubs. I don't like pulp horror fiction. I don't like bikers with leather jackets. I don't like bear chested surfers telling me they met "The" girl. I don't like gangstas. I don't like Highlander. I don't like smug history professors like Beckett. Los Angeles is not the most original of settings. Swearing's not that big of a thing. I stopped liking big breasts ever since I got internet connection. Most of all I don't like vampires and I've read Anne Rice.

Yet I felt completely engrossed in both the city and the story from start to finish. It's one of those games that upon finish it, you wish you could write a novel or make a movie that has the same feeling and atmosphere just so you could get more of "it".

Bloodlines does immersion right. Immersion in the sense of believable virtual reality rather than pure graphical detail. Virtual reality in the sense of a simulating a fictional life rather than just putting on a helmet and gloves and manipulating objects in a virtual room. The atmosphere is top-notch, the plot is interesting, the characters are plausible and the C&C is satisfactory. And you know what, the game is polished, but in the simulation rather than the programming sense. The apartment, the radio, the mailbox, the emails, the goth music, yes, these are the kind of detailed touches which improve the experience more than the fact that some dialogue is not missing any lines or that the effect of all items is exactly as originally intended.

Overexposure to porn makes you get tired of it p. quickly

Remember when you were a kid, and had to fucking steal some porn mages to get sum titties? Good times. Now you just type "hueg tits" on google and blam, it's there. No magic anymore, man

Large breasts are dangerous. They may hang down as you age. Your garderobe is much more limited. They make it hard to embrace your partner, especially for (literally)sleeping in bed. Not to mention that they're much more exposed to cancer then small/normal sized breasts.

On the bright side, perfect for hot dog!

Yeah, a dozen or so dinks is the same retardedness that brands BG2 modders as being still 'active'. LMFAO 99.9% of those who bought played Bl have thrown it in the trash. same with Bgs eries, FO series, and a host of others that have a a rink dink number of 'modders'. R00fles!

"All three of Troika's games were perfect"

Nothing is perfect. Stop the bullshits, start the truths!

you moron, you can't cut half a sentence out and treat it as its own. I said in ONE aspect, that they were perfect in ONE aspect (bloodlines would be writing).

Nonsense, Troika can do no wrong.

FFS

Not the point -- not Co8's fault for restoring an item to usable status that was already in game. Fault them for the 3rd party shit, which is optional, but if you want to somehow rage out at the "ff7' sword then rage out at Troika.

Nevermind that it's just one fucking sword in a game with god knows how many dozens of weapons.

I find it hard to believe that the sword was intended to be part of the game. Maybe it was supposed to be part of some easter-egg or something, thus taking it out of context and treating it like a regular weapon makes no sense.

Maybe they removed it because they didn't quite like the result, but yeah, it was part of the original game. Like most restore mods, this one didn't take that into account at first and just threw the fucker back in.

And iirc, I read that quite a few npcs were supposed to wield it regularly, so no easter egg.

The weapon was supposed to be enchanted but something was bugged with the enchantment and it didn't see in-game play. Co8 restored the model as a vanilla d10 two handed sword.

The question was fully answered in a thread somewhere here on the Codex, but after a preliminary search I was unable to find it but did find other interesting threads I am going to read now, so uhh.. whatevers.

Clockwork Knight - the weapon was not a 'regular' weapon at all, the only time you see it used commonly is on the added areas that Co8 made where Drow wield it -- and since those are in the bonus package and entirely 3rd party, it doesn't count.

edit: interesting to see that in the past 10 or so TOEE threads i saw in my search, every time the thread was over 5 posts, some fucking idiot brings up the dreaded "cloud sword".

You are a moron. I cut nothing out as the point still stands. NOTHING is eprfect. Not a game. Not a movie. Not a human being (except for me as the exception to the rule). Not even an 'aspect'. FFS

BL was not perfect in any aspect. None of these games were perfect in any aspect.

wut?
You can't possibly tell me that it's as good as Deus Ex or SS2

I'm in the apparently small, but correct minority that thinks Deus Ex sucked. And there wasn't much RP in SS2.
