CDP was selling PS:T (last time it was priced 5$) but it was a localized version (done extremely good btw - all cant words got their polish eqiuvalent and the VOs were great) so I wouldn't be so sure it will be on GOG.

I'm not sure if Interplay still has the rights to its D&D titles - notice that none of them appears in any GOG images.

Bumped due to the upcoming beta.

"On Monday, September 8, anyone who signed up for the GOG.com beta will start receiving access keys to the site. We're saying goodbye to the press beta and gearing up for the next phase: Early Access Beta. Everyone who signs up at www.gog.com before Sunday September 7 at midnight (EDT), during the next week will receive an access key, which will allow them to dive into the GOG.com site. If you don't receive your access key on Monday, don't worry as we're sending them out in stages. The Early Access Beta will offer all the main features of the site, including buying DRM-free games, joining the community and writing reviews. Apart from just getting access, everyone buys a game from GOG.com during the Early Access Beta will receive a bonus code to get one game from GOG.com’s Interplay catalogue for free! So what are you waiting for? If you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to enter your email address and get in on the action."

So have they put out a detailed list of their complete catalogue yet? If not does anyone here who gets in on the BETA fancy posting a list of at least the choice items?

Fuckin' Pollacks found a way to rip us off once again.

Seriously, all these games should be abandonware. I don't want these jerks profiting from the dubious gray area that is the status quo.

You'll be able to install and play them without a hassle. If that isn't enough I don't know what is.

From their interview over on Gamebanshee

GB: At the moment, there are only a handful of games depicted on the GOG website. Are you able to give us at least a partial list of games that you already know will be available at launch?

Tom: I'll mention some of my favorites that aren't on the teaser site... Jagged Alliance 2, MDK 2, Redneck Rampage, Kingpin, Lionheart, Descent 1-3, Shogo... ah the list goes on and on.

My friend did it, I failed because of boredom.
Also why are they selling Freespace2 when there is a superior (in everything) version available for free that also includes Freespace 1 with an addon? I'm talking about FS2Open built on Volition's open-sourced FS2 engine btw.
Smells like ripping off indeed.
Descent 1-3? oh please
The only game there that can be really sold is OFP - because of a cd-key. And if they will give a separate cd-key for each copy.

I hope they'll add System Shock 2 and make it compatible with XP and the latest hardware. Maybe then I'll finally have a chance to play it. The old Tex Murphy games would be great as well.

Can anyone tell me how Perimeter and Hostile Waters is? I'm planning on getting those two as my first purchase but i'm not entirely sure of their quality

I can only vouch for Perimeter single-player. It's like the girl in the limerick:

"When she was good,
She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid."

Depending on which mission you play it veers erratically between fascinating and tedious. Still, it's that rarest of rare birds: an RTS with new ideas (see also Sacrifice on the above list, which is a "must have").

I got a gog.com pack at the GC - two free games for me. I thought of getting the M.A.X. 1-2 Pack and perhaps Die by the Sword but there might be more interesting titles coming soon, the fuck I know so I'll just wait. I hope they'll add the first two Thief games and the System Shocks - can't get them running properly on my system.

I got System Shock 1 running with dosbox. The trick is you have to mount the CD drive to whatever drive you told the game you installed from. That got the CD version working at least.

Haven't tried running System Shock 2 with Vista though...

I'm pretty sure those free codes of yours are only valid until September 22. I got one as well after buying my first game with GOG to get 1 Interplay game free, but the code is only valid for a limited time.

I recall liking Hostile Waters a lot when I played it. Oddly, I can't recall the exact reasons why. I'll reinstall it to solve the mystery.
