Section8 and Chefe ask you for a forum. One is a stable guy whom you've never banned and has written some decent articles. He's shown you a synopsis and some renders, he has a design wiki and photobucket with some interesting things. Oh and yeah, he's also been a profeshunal gaem developar with a track record. The other is Chefe. Which one do you grant a forum to without a second thought and which one do you apply higher standards to before they get theirs?

If you answered Chefe gets the forum right away then you failed the Codex Competency Test, Administration Edition.

They were some cel-shaded renders to show what the game might look like. I'm not sure there was even an engine.

If everyone of some fair amount of time as a member posted reviews of their own even only ones of mediocre quality it would be much better than most professional review sites. He deserves some respect for being a productive dude, levelling criticism at the piece is another thing entirely.

As of now, NMA has posted the 47th round-up of FO3 reviews. How is his productive?

Not of fallout 3 of other rpgs with differing opinions, because you know them as posters you would have some idea about where the review is coming from.

I haven't played Fallout 3 - yet. Nor am I sure I wish to do so anytime from now to eternity. However, I have read Chefe's review and find it interesting and in line with my thoughts on Fallout 3 from viewing the hype machine about it; videos and interviews etc.

As DU have said: This is the Codex. If you disagree wirh the review, do it. If you don't like the review,
say it. Argue, reason, vocalize your concerns etc.
And from my angle: Do it without attacking people personally for their views or reviews of games you might think you hate or dislike.

As for VD's review of the game, if you go to NMA, (or here? I think) you will see a 'let's play' of Fallout 3 in which VD goes through the game's plot. He
actually says, as I remember it, that Fallout 3, is a decent or good game, it is just not a good Fallout game. (if memory serves me correctly?) I expect VD's review to be in line with these comments.

What I ask myself is, was the game really worth all this drama?
Oh dear no... we can't have DRAMA!

When I came to the codex I was still looking forward to Oblivion,
Thanks for reminding us.

but it turned out the codex had made a farsighted prediction that it would be crap, and that impressed me (as it turned out to be crap). But at the moment I find myself much less attached to the codex.

Before this shit started, the fronts were clear, I saw this as the right place for individuals like myself who were pissed off by the hipocrisy and mediocrity of the internet, at the same looking for honest reviews of new and old games, and were finally able to discuss without a filter.

What is this place now? Will people now forever have to weigh their words if they think a certain game is crap? Because they have to be careful about what goes on behind the scenes, lest they be attacked by another faction, or just some opportunists? Me thinks you might as well close down the site if that is the case.
Or maybe you should just leave, and not tell us what to do. If you don't care for this site as you just said then it's none of your business really, is it?

In that spirit: Fallout3 = Bethesda = consoles = the gaming industry = suck major ass, that still stands. I'm not going to arrange with the situation, because I love games. Don't sell out the codex because you can't make up you mind about "Fallout" 3.
And I'm sure we'll miss your deep intellect, coming up with equations like that is really insightful.

I cock and squeeze when I shower men
And show a little love now and then
If I was them? Fuck my enemies
I smoke my little trees, show love to my seeds
And put my hours in, but that was then

Is this a good rap, DefJam?

someone comes up with a new meme = people start to use the new meme = meme gets over-used = meme dies.

Uhm, I actually thought it was a good review, and after playing Fallout3 some, agree with most of the points raised, both good and bad, eg, Beth really need to get some animators/modellers working for them, and maybe a couple of people who's only job is to write - dialogue, plots etc.

I disagreed about the composer, Soule might just as well have copied Lord of the Rings soundtrack for Oblivion, because his version was just a cheap copy.

I played Fallout1 when it came out, but for me, my golden fave games were Midwinter, Starflight, Arena, Daggerfall, Ultima Underworld and U6/7, System Shock (hated the Bioshock reinterpretation, but enjoyed Mass Effect), so I may not be qualified to hold an opinion (in the eyes of the Codex).

But I'm enjoying Fallout3. I was trying to get back to Megaton as night was falling and came across a group in the wasteland. I crept closer, they were some kind of mutants, closer but they didn't shoot at me, so I walked into the camp and one of them thanked me for not shooting first. That impressed me, amongst many other little touches.

It may not be a proper Fallout sequel (though Afterfall - if it's still being worked on, sounds like it might be), but are all you haters still gonna pour scorn if the modders kit comes out and someone remakes Fallout 1 or 2 in this engine in a year or so? The quest maker will certainly be able to create fully branching plot lines and I imagine someone will create something amazing out of the VATs system.

And yea, I know, we're not supposed to expect modders to create or finish the game, but why not? the developers have to create something that makes them quick bucks, and all the console 'tards will move onto the next shiny thing that comes along, meanwhile that still leaves plenty of life in the Fallout 3D universe.

I joined RPG Codex when I realised Beth were fucking up Oblivion. I stayed for the interesting, differing opinions. I 100% agreed with VDs Oblivion review, and loved the Chefe comics he did pre release. But I'm also pleased to see Beth have listened somewhat to what people have said, and I pray they'll keep some of the C&Cs they've done for F3 for the next TES release.

Live long and prosper.

Where the fuck have you been for your 3500+ posts? I've been spewing useless one-liners lately because there is fuck-all to talk about. I am not SFRN. Honestly. I wouldn't quote myself in my own fucking signature. Fire your anti-decline bullets elsewhere, you're wasting ammo.

coolpoints:

Twinfalls = thinks I'm SFRN = :decline: = missing the point entirely = dumbfuck

Can one of the mod's just do an ip check real quick and put this petty argument to rest? It's derailing what has so far been an entertaining thread.

Is this your way to communicate the administration wishes for the forum members to use said mame as much as possible so it can die as quickly as possible (only to be replaced by a new mame which in turn should also be used as much as possible... )?

Also, do you think that a forum that the administrators themselves post spam/mame, using many bbcode and html tags to emphasis their love for said mame, as much as their highly valued and beloved forum members is a forum you would personally like to administer?
