The review is up on the first page of this thread. It includes screenshots and a picture of me with the box to prove all you nay-sayers wrong.

This utterly pathetic.

You just can't respect the opinions of others. I will probably enjoy Oblivion and it is my choice.

You are not an omniscient God that can decide how people should think.

WTF?

This guy just give Oblivion crap all the time.

I have read logical critisism of the damn game here and they all had a point.

This guy doesn't have any.

The people who bash the game bash it's RPG qualities, not it's qualities as a game.

Everyone who got the damn guide admit that the game is an improvement on Morrowind.

You are the troll!

I find this mockery of OB simply disgusting. If you are truly "in the know" as some kind of game journalist then your editor should rightly fire your arse for such a blatantly biased review. You think I'm joking? I have you know that I'm a professor of journalism at a prestigious university, and if a student of mine ever gave me a review like that I would have failed them instantly and pinned their review at the teacher's lounge so we could all laugh our arses off at how bad it is.

Now since I am unbiased I will admit there are flaws to OB; as a senior member of the Royal Medieval Arms Society, I can say with authority that Double Slash manoeuvre should be issued as "< > B B" and not "> > B B". IMHO I blame all those bloody hollywood movies which show off the Double Slash as some kind of show-boaty "> > B B" when it was historically a quick and efficient "< > B B" that aimed straight for the opponent's solar plexus.

However I am rambling on now, back to my original statement my dear Chefe. I give your review a grade F!!!.

Well perhaps you need to read over the manuals again, Doctor Doofus. < > is anything but an efficient and quick manuever. It requires you to charge up your < before releasing your >. The proper term for the quick and effective Double Slash technique is > >, two quick taps forward. It must be a while since you attended any RMAS meetings, because only a complete idiot would say that the DS move is < > instead of > >. DUH!

How much was your dignity worth huh?

Two blow-jobs followed by steamy hot sex with Bethesda's sassy new intern. She used to be a supermodel.

Heh, this thread got some attention over at TES forums before being locked:

To provide some context, the originator of that thread has also written posts bragging about getting 3DSMax, Bryce, Maya for free, so no doubt he's following Ob copy protection discussions closely.

The person in question did not get any of those programs for free. He bought Zbrush 2.00, and the rest was just wishfull thinking. He was talking about 3DS Max, Zbrush 2.00, and Houdni. Get your facts straight. I'm pretty sure he clarified what he meant later on in the thread.

There we go, that update is what I was expecting of this thread. Although I think your conclusion was slightly off target. Instead of "It's what Da Vinci would have played." it should have been "It's what Da Vinci would have created, and Jesus would have played".

The "Todd Howard ©" was a nice touch. :)

Ah yes, he "clarified" his post by erasing it, not by explaining what he meant. Uh-huh. It was pretty clear he was just trying to cover his tracks. By the way, he originally listed 'Zbrush - $0' in his post, doesn't sound bought to me.

I thought there were a few pretty good jabs in there, but I don't think Oblivion © has a new asshole yet.

Will there be a part two?

That feature is, quite simply, so amazing that I cannot put it into words. You're just going to have to play the game for yourself to experience it. My apologies for not adding that in there initially.

Sigh. He erased the contents of his original post, which included obvious statements about 'obtaining' free software, and listed a variety of software packages that he had acquired for $0. He then also added a subsequent post which supposedly explained that it was all just a 'mistake'. Right, that was why he was in such a hurry to cover his tracks, hmmm?

(BTW: slinging around weak attempts at insults only makes you look even sillier when you are proven wrong.)

Edit: If he had left the original post, then folks could have judged for themselves. Unfortunately I only quoted a small section of it in my reply. If I can ever find that post, despite the search function being turned off, I'll be glad to copy it over here.

Nothing too special in that thread, but for what's it worth:

Wow.

Anyways, I give Bethesda's install program a -1287913413412/10 because it employs Starforce and [censored] up my computer. I had to spend all last night re-installing the [censored] system. But I'm back and installing Oblivi[censored] again.

Remember, I'm doing this all for your benefit.

This quote is from the RPG Codex forums (go figure), and this guy (Chefe) claims he has the game. Whether we should believe him or not is up to you, I'll just wait for the evidence (of him having the game)

Anyway this guy claims that OB is using Star Force, I don't believe him and neither do many other Codexers.

What is your stance on this, do you believe him, and do you think that Beth has been lying to us about Star force all along? (I don't)

Let the speculation begin.

We aren't going to discuss the claims of trolls from other forums...that and it has been said at least a couple times that Oblivion won't be using that form of copy protection...

I just found it mildly amusing that an obvious gag post here would be reposted as something serious on the TES forums.

Well, just look at the people here taking it seriously.

That is simply too funny. Considering how I HAVE READ THE MANUALS:

doubleslash8xa.jpg

As you can plainly see, manuscripts dating back from AT LEAST 9000 years ago clearly state the intristic motions required to perform the Double Slash - and it doesn't involve "> > B B".

Maybe next time, little grasshopper.
