Meh. What do they win if they hack your ass, Chaotic? Some indian pr0n?
Omg, rootkits, hackers and nigger cocks. Run for your life.
Everything you say about uplay applies for steam too. Its the same drm bullshit only in different package. Dont be a hypocrite.

Uplay gets hacked regularly. Oh and Uplay uses rootkits in its DRM. prepare for some nigger cock buttrape.
My morning coffee.

The game looks kinda neat. The backgrounds are pretty good looking, thought the main character seem to be lacking something, perhaps a big portrait, those are always nice in jrpgs. I don't know about the side-scrolling aspect though. At the moment i really only remember Zelda 2 in that style and that was okay-ish.

If it's cheap, you never know.

I'm a sucker for good 2D art, so I'll probably buy this at some point, especially given the low price. Combat looks like it could drag on due to an excess of unskippable animations, as JRPG combat sometimes does. Still, it looks like an interesting idea, there aren't a lot of sidescrolling RPGs, especially with combat abstracted away into a separate plane of action.

I kind of suspect people calling it a "tablet game" have never owned a tablet in their life. A dedicated handheld, sure, but platformers tend to control like shit on touchscreens.

How do you make a platformer with turn-based combat? :-|
Probably you bump into monsters and the fight starts.

Good thing this one looks like it plays on slow motion.

Not really. Comparing to Rayman, normal movement is about the same, and flying seems faster, although Rayman can also run, which isn't shown in the trailer. This is beside the point anyway, since platformers play like shit on a touchscreen regardless of how fast they are, just like FPS on a gamepad.

Gotta love the fact that fucking Ubisoft is releasing this game on every platform imaginable except handhelds/tablets, but our resident mobile gaming experts know it's a tablet game regardless.

And much like FPS on a gamepad, the speed is ajusted for the shitty method of input. They have even Sonic on tablets. And I don't care about Rayman's walking speed, this looks slow as balls, the only way I see it being hard is if the controls are bad on purpose.

It sure looks like one, even the interface elements reek of it. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the original intended plataform and they changed because Ubi has been doing some weird shit lately.

Maybe you should audition for Ubisoft CEO bro, you have ideas the company could really benefit from.

Guess it's a pretty rare surname.
Yeah, though somewhat less rare than I thought growing up. He and I didn't meet up until I was in my 20s; he called me and I had a great moment to invoke, "Okay sir, you're a Lebowski, I'm a Lebowski, that's terrific, but I'm very busy, as I can imagine you are." Anyway, he pursued games full time, and I'm very proud/impressed by his achievements, but candidly that path doesn't interest me: I love my day job and, in any event, I'd rather work on independent projects that on big AAA titles -- though I'm especially pleased that he's found a way to do an independent project with Ubi's backing. He's much more entrepreneurial and proactive than I am, so I'm not surprised to be surpassed so utterly! [EDIT: He may also be a better writer; I'm not really well equipped to judge.]

The game looks interesting, I'll give it a whirl.

And yeah, if this games uses fucking Uplay, then I will get the DRM free version from my favorite torrent site.

With all that said, Uplay was offline for a few hours yesterday, so lots of people couldn't play their games and there was much rage.
This is bad, but Ubisoft's shitty customer service is the worst thing about Uplay actually.

uplay has a functioning offline mode, just like steam, which asks you if you want to go offline when it cannot connect. you can play all installed ubisoft games in offline mode with the exception of crap like asscreed which has that shitty connect to servers to download parts of the code bullshit drm. you might have to run it in offline once, just like steam.

I've never had to deal with their phone/ticket support to I can't comment on that, but their forum support team has always answered issues I've looked at reasonably promptly. I've not played many of their "big" games though (only games I own on Uplay are M&M ones), so perhaps I dodged the bullet as a result.
