In before split. Looks like 2013 MOBA game generated by chatgpt. Well good luck Gollop.

Instead of taking the momentum built up by the decent to good Phoenix Point and trying to create something great, this was the best option for their next project? What in the fuck? Absolute trash.

Momentum built by Phoenix Point? What momentum? I haven’t heard anything about Phoenix Point in years. Was actually a bit surprised to see the Phoenix Point thread pop back up in my Alerts. I’m not particularly crazy about the art style, someone brought Mars Attacks before, and something more along the lines of that (or Zombies At My Neighbors) would’ve been better.

But...the idea of this does seem interesting, seems to be an RTS where you control a single character like an action game. There’s been a few of those, but nowhere near enough of them; and they don’t always have the base building element, (The Outfit) which is an exclusion that sucks. Although the game is really going to ride on how well they can pull off the action gameplay.

I just meant momentum as in establishing a studio, gathering a team that could work competently together, learning from mistakes, polishing what was rough, etc. Really I just meant that it seems like a complete waste of the experience they went through with Phoenix Point (which I genuinely do view as a good game in its current state) to shift gears so drastically, both in terms of gameplay and aesthetic direction.

What is it with games having titles so bad they alone literally, out of the gate, ensure it will never be successful.

What is happening over there, in game development.

Any people showcasing an ability to make a decision without wetting their pants?

This reads like a clone of a successful 90s and 00s game, indeed. Maybe it will be something akin to Sacrifice or Brutal Legend? Either way, XCOM 3 is not happening.
