I don't see it, looks like a can to me, also there are no champagne glasses on the counter, maybe he brought his own from home?It's not a can he's holding. Look again, and not at the pixellized crop. Champagne glass. (And credit card).

Clearly he used his credit card to grab himself a non-free prestigious beverage at the bar unlike his colleagues. Which is why he's sitting at the back, in a chair from the other room in the back, and still holding the card: he arrived late.
