Since Codex GotY is limited to RPGs games identifying as RPGs, this thread belongs in the general RPG forum.

But this discussion is moot, anyway, since, just as Brian Fargo regained the hearts and minds of the Codex in 2020 with Wasteland 3, so will Todd Howard in 2023 regain the hearts and minds of the Codex with Starfield.

Haven't played too many 2023 RPGs (granted there haven't been that many yet) just Caves of Lore, 10 hours of Colony Ship a year ago, Like a Dragon Ishin, Dead Monarchy, and I guess I can include the Front Mission remake technically since I did play it on the DS years ago and SNES many years before that. I don't remember if Space Wreck was included or not in the last goty 2022 since it was very loosely in Early Access as a feature complete game.

Will definitely do a run through of Colony Ship when it comes out but so far yeah certainly my front runner followed by Caves of Lore. Not a ton of rpgs I am looking forward to with 2023 ETAs either: Kingsvein and Wandering Sword are about it.

Colostomy Shit = Colony Ship. Pretty clever, you can't deny it. I asked Crispy to fix my shenanigans but he's proven to be useless as always. Seems like the only time Crispy feels like using his mod powers is to hinder me, like for example when I post a pic of an attractive adult female. He accused me of doxxing but I think the real problem he had with it was she was too old.

I played it for 10 minutes and uninstalled it. Felt like a shittier version of Diablo 3, and playing a game on your phone in general just seems wrong.

Hm? I'm not wrong. The staff themselves define Zelda as a RPG because they allow it to be in the JRPG subforum, and the game IS playable on PC. It not being eligible is a bogus technicality.

My theory on why it wont be included in GOTY competition is because Elden Ring won the last one (rightfully so) and certain people don't want to see a similar game win by a landslide again because it makes them feel insecure about their favorite obscure RPGs that nobody has ever heard of.
