Everyone's favorite real-time dungeon romp, Dungeon Lords has once again been postponed, this time to a mid-May 2005 release date, slipping past its overly enthusiastic April 20 release date.

Hopefully this allow the developers some time to actually finish the game. So, how about fixing that night time lighting?

They've adressed that already.

They're adding goggles.

Why not just up the view range? I think that would be easier, and more practical?
What?
There is nothing wrong with the "view range".
At daytime you can see plenty far.

It's only in the dark parts that you need the goggles

(maybe I should add more winks?)
(maybe Mr Lunch should have added some winks?)

Behind you.
I'm guessing that the reason you can't see very well at night has everything to do with view range. It'd be rather silly to render all that stuff you can't see.

I think I read somewhere you can now sleep all night at campsites so you don't have to trundle round all night blind. I think I also read somewhere you could get googles......

This game is gonna be game equivilent of a stank ass bitch who tries to sell herself on the street for two bucks a pop, and you know it. I'll take the high class escort (Guild Wars), thanks.

Errrrmmmm...okay
I think your analogy fits better with the shite that the likes of Silver Style churn out. And I think this game is going to be a lot better than The Fall. Or Gorasul.

Talking of whores aside, even if it turns out to be the slightest bit decent, I think the damage is already done.

Incidentally, are there any downloadable video segments for Guild Wars that do not make the gameplay look like complete shit? I'm hearing great stuff about it and all, but the footage I've seen so far isn't doing the word-of-mouth/previews any justice!*

Edit: BTW, I think it's "skank-ass bitch"
Edit2: * All the video I have seen so far are some (admittedly glorious looking) panning shots of scenery, and lots of repetitive albeit flashy looking fighting. Characters flailing away at each other again and again, that sort of thing. As advertising, they fail to make it look better than a typical mmorpg (yes, I know it is not an mmorpg, its just the footage is bad at conveying that).

I did mean viewing range at night, thanks Saint.

While the corrections to work around this are nice (goggles and resting to day), I still think it should just not be implemented as it is. One simple change in implementation = no need to progrem these other items. Seriously, how blind does he think we are at night anyways? Or, does everyone in his fantasy world just have poor eyesight?

Fucking hell, bgsillip.
Did we need to ad more smilies and winks for you?
No fucking goggles, K? Keerrist!

However the current list of fnished fixes includes:
-Camping Implemented! Players can camp out at campsite to rest, refilling magic spells, healing, and passing time of day.
-Gamma fixed

And other things that annoyed me that are fixed:
-Screen resolutions work correctly
-Compass Implemented
-Climbing (especially out of the water) has been fixed! (yay)

All at this thread:

I got it now, thanks. Guess one should not read a message board half-awake :), jokes tend to be missed.

Then again, it is D.W Bradely, the same guy who put shapeships and guns into Wizardy. So, goggles did not seem as far fetched as you thought. At least to someone reading a post on little to no sleep.

Oh, and Fez, moron indicators do help when one is on little to no sleep. I really can't wait for the semester to end so I can sleep more...or play games more, probably the later actually.

Maybe because it does not have a monthly fee? I personally hate paying $49.99 or so for a game, then $15 mothly to keep playing.

Oh, I got much more sleep last night, so should be better

You called it an MMORPG just to get Exitium to respond to your flame, didn't you?
