I always love the attitude over here. "Hey, here's a guy posting every couple of days on a subject we all claim to care about." "Let's tear him down as much as possible!"
I am just a guy who really enjoys RPGs and likes to write about them. You don't have to enjoy or even read my blog, but do you think maybe "douche" and "retarded" and "pure shit" and whatever are, I don't know, a little harsh when we're talking about a hobby that we all enjoy?
People ask why I don't participate here. This is why. These are games. Why do you all like to get together and call each other horrible things over games? I've disagreed with lots of commenters on my blog, but I don't think I've ever sworn at them or called them "retarded."
A lot of people from here regularly check your blog, I know I do. Even though you have praised Oblivion and Fallout 3, so that says a lot, I really respect your effort.
This is a forum where insults are tolerated, which leads to a certain atmosphere. I know for one that I thrive in that atmosphere, but if you are a very sensitive person who will seriously be sad or angry because someone calls you a retard on the Internet, you still have room to grow.
This is indeed a close-knit community in the sense that there are lots of "local celebrities" who have easily recognizable Internet personae. But as is the rule on the anonymous parts of the Internet, if someone writes an extremely abrasive diatribe about how much they hate you and how stupid you are, you will have to learn to react with amusement. Nobody is going to find you and kill you IRL because you rated the M&M games in the wrong order.
