The Witchers are extremely, extremely overrated, yes, and I knew Cyberpunk will turn out ...questionable when I found out it's going to be a shooter. They kind of couldn't go above nu-Deus Ex in terms of gameplay with the format they chose even if they tried really hard. The open world thing might've been too much for them in this particular case, especially since a city is not the endless forests and plains of the Witchers. And like I said, I'm still not sure whether you can do a full stealth playthrough. If you can't, it's not even close to nu-Deus Ex at all. Like you mentioned, I too don't see the point in using the Cyberpunk license.

I enjoyed HR, but it was already waay too simple, which is why I mentioned the original DX. So if people are saying that CP2077 doesn't even hit that level of intricacy, that's a big fucking problem, for me at least. But apparently it has attributes, skills, perks, and implants, which is three more layers of chardev than HR had. But now it seems the action mechanics are poor.

It is interesting how little spoilers the thread actually have. It is just meme shitposting with nearly zero story spoilers :).

Ok he's driving now and there's definitely collision and damage, so there's that.
Not very good, but at least it exists.

City has less traffic at night than my fucking village though

Edit: Oh shit he just hit that error, yeah hahaha

I'm not joking about the TB party-based isometric RPG thing. I know hindsight is 20/20, but it seems obvious now that a shooter can't contain the complexity a cyberpunk setting demands.
Not in CDPR's hands at least. They make brainlet games. I don't know why anyone had much faith in them, and their vaunted storytelling ability is a meme. They might as well have not even used the CP license. I'm playing o.g. DX with the GMDX mod, and it smokes this game, and even that's not really that complex. Fucking Shadowrun on the Genesis had more robust chardev than anything CDPR have done.

I think a stealth playthrough is possible but:
1) Limited tools: you can kill people from behind and you can distract them with hacking, that's about it,
2) There is no challenge because the NPCs are basically retarded,
3) There is no shadow meter,
4) There is no stealth sound design,
5) They are constantly forcing combat on the player which means that the stealth approach rarely makes sense narratively.

The only thing good about the game until now is that the level design seems to be competent meaning that the locations are not filled with vents or obvious stealth paths like in nu-Deus Ex.

But overall I think stealth is worse than in nu-Deus Ex and trying to ghost it could be a waste of time.

Looking at the stream, I will say that Witchers character VA and performances smokes this.

Yep. It looks like CD Projekt RED is done.

They lost their original devs, they lost their writers and now they lost their soul.

The game is under-cooked. They will need at least one year to fix this mess.

Witcher 3, in spite of it's shit tier systems and copy-pasted open world encounter crap seems like much more of a labor of love than this, that's for sure.

I really hope they'll surprise us somehow, at least with post-release patches.

Their systems will always be shit but at least some of the other stuff should be fixable.

As to their writers, what do you mean? I must have missed the news?

Being a CDPR fanboy, I'm terrified watching this stream. This can be catastrophe. I can't find one thing that I like about it. I can't even see thing that made Witcher series such a memorable experience, it's like someone else have done it. There isn't one gameplay element that looks like fun.

Cyberpunk will essentially be the Oblivion of this generation, it seems. CDPR dethroning Bethesda... But not in the sense that many expected.

Oh wow, so there IS a third female character model in the game other than roid gorilla and skinny chick.

Still haven't seen a single example of a lady with a nice rack, and I'm not even a tit man to begin with...

Don't underestimate tit envy. "Big tits" is a taboo for a reason nowadays, it's practically synonymous with "I'm a sexist P.I.G.".
