I gave this a short spin, and I'm having fun so far. It's different mechanically to Islands of the Caliph, but it has the same oldschool-ish vibe of:
1. Relative simplicity
2. No hand-holding
3. Just being dumped in the world without much introduction to start doing shit

I cleared out one dungeon, entered another, it's a fun enough lawnmowing experience.

Also, while you can't make it non-monochrome, there are hue and saturation settings that can make the visuals less eye-gouging:

Lol, you beat a random munster into submission and suddenly it starts talking.

This is what Daggerfall always wanted to be.

Well I finished the early access. Took me 8 hours.

though there are actually 2 exits from the underworld zomg

(found the other one too)

Tl;dr pretty half-baked right now, and I wouldn't expect it to get much more depth in the end. Not bad if you like lawnmowing dungeon maps, but on the whole nothing special, though it has a few cool ideas like the above big stick diplomacy. Still, Islands of the Caliph felt more involved.

Wasn't there also a project called cyclopean being developed by wormwood or smth like that?
