Is there? That's not always the case. In fact it's becoming a rarity these days when developers want people generating hype for their upcoming games.
There is in this case, unfortunately.

this isn't even really an RPG is it? from what I've seen it looks like some sort of fantasy chess with absolutely nothing going on outside combat.

Bleh. Pretty silly of them considering when it's released they'll be competing with 75% off sales for Conquistadors, Eador, etc. Never mind the other RPG/strategy titles that will be the same release price like Eisenwald... possibly Dead State and... dare I say... AoD!

Received my email as well. They must either be desperate for testers to let all of us Codexers in or they really want solid and honest input .... who knows? I laughed at the part of the Terms of Use section of the email that stated this:

This agreement only includes confidentiality, no strings attached. You do not need to buy anything, no micro payments, no DLCs.

I promised them honest feedback and I plan to give it. :rpgcodex:

After getting this much Codex feedback, they may just decide their game is too shit to release, format their hard drives, and seek alternative employment.

I just received a letter that I was rejected because they found someone better.

Or they'll join bitComposer instead.

Someone please clarify this:

If it's full of text based awesomeness like Darklands instead of 3D cutscenes then it's great.
If it's just like japanese TRPG then I'll be disappointed.

I read an early preview some time ago and if I recall correctly it was like:
1) travel world map
2) enter combat scenarios
and nothing in between.
with the combat scenarios being quite scripted, too...

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Dammit, Daedalic! You're making solid adventure games! Just make an adventure game and add combat to it!

I'm fully expecting a fantasy version of Shadowrun Returns, though perhaps with more non-linearity.

Well, those things qualify Shadowrun Returns as an RPG so there you go!

Tnx guys, at least it's clear now.

That will be better, ultimately I'll wait for the codex review just like always.

I got in, but they want my personal information? Don't know if want anymore.
I'll brew on it overnight.
