Beter example, Genma: I dumped Morrigan the moment I hit Lothering. Couldn't stand her writing and voice acting. Yet she's still mentioned, not just by Alistair, who met her, but by NPCs who never met her, like Wynne.

Obviously such things can be hard to avoid, but boy that was lulzy.

Lulziest moment is still when Lelliana starts breaking into Aragorn-song. That was stupid enough in LotR, in this game it just had me rolling on the floor for two solid minutes.

Yeah, the singing was a facepalm moment in what I otherwise found to be a very good game.

I didn't mind Morrigan at all, which is surprising considering I hate what Claudia Black did to SG-1. The only character who pissed me off was Zevran. I'm on my second playthrough now, and I intend to stab that son of a bitch when he attacks me.

The soundtrack in general is horrendous and overly intrusive. Even in the midst of a time when subtle soundtracks are a forgotten art it sticks out. I don't think I recall any game recently having combat music that's quite this terrible.

Man I wish I was writing a review for this game :P

Actually, if anything pleasantly surprised me it's how little I was annoyed by DA's followers. The cookie-cutter blandness usually gets on my nerves within a few hours, but other than Morrigan - who I could not remotely stand, from her whorish appearance to her tepid voice-acting to her horrible lines - they all work. Sure Zevran isn't great, but I was surprised by how such stereotypes as old-wise-aunt Wynne and whiny-emo-kid/jokester Alistair were not getting on my nerves. And I kind of like Sten even if he seems a bit inconsistent. The VA is almost universally superb, though - again - I hated Morrigan, and am unimpressed by Leliana and just lulzing at the other Orlais characters (her friend in particular sounds like fucking Inspector Clouseau, a joke), but, for example, Alistair is brilliantly voiced.

I like a lot about Dragon Age. I dislike quite a bit too. Good game, RPGotY, but not really something I'd call "great". I just returned to Orzammar a few days ago, got bored, quit and haven't touched it since. Typical effect of BW's games on me, it always takes discipline to get through the boredom and finish them. Often not worth it (never finished Mass Effect).

Yes that. Don't get me wrong, the song itself is hilariously bland (Enya much?) but not bad. The way it's plumped into the game and the scene built around it are just lollercaust material

Epic Scene , Epic Song.... One of the greatest soundtracks

I love this song!

I've been hearing a guy call this soundtrack shit.

His loss I guess, as I would not call this "bland".

I know there is a version of this song playing on the main menu, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Is it a different song or is it the same song and I'm just retarded? Please help.

The title theme is a different song. This song is sung by Leliana herself at camp in a special cutscene. She is a bard, after all.

yeah, but u know everytime the short movies comes with Teyrn Loghain, it is a great soundtrack there which i can't find, and when u are at the group camp, there its like an instrumental version of lelianna's song..i wanna find it :/

Most of the soundtracks are up somewhere if you look for them. Might not be the most interesting thing in the world sitting there going through song tracks, but if you want to find it it should be out there.

Simply amazing. The soundtrack for this game will just blow you away. I did NOT expect this.

And if your not in to the soundtrack the game will blow you away! :D

this is just <3

You heard Youtube, guys. Stop hatin'

You are a piece of shit. Morrigan is easily BIO's best joinable npc ever.

The character works for what she is if a person bothers digging into her background some. Volourn is actually right this time you are a moron.

"Isn't it a little early to say DA is better than BG2. It has alot of things going for it but I can still load up BG2 10 years after release and have a great time. I would think you need to wait a bit to decrare DA the winner."

No. Hell no. Fuck NO.

I think your Double Dumbfuck tag is ready now.

BG2 was fun when I was nothing but a mere kid (ok, I was in my early 20s); but now when I play role-playing agmes I want actual C&C and challenging combat. Not pussy stuff with retarded rangers and crybaby elves.

Considering Zevran keeps whining about his moms Dalish gloves or some horseshit really has me wondering if I should keep playing through. Also - C&C? You can't choose to NOT be a Grey Warden. The fact that you're forced to join the Grey Wardens results in the same ending pretty much - you HAVE to kill an Archdemon, you HAVE to stop the Blight. Fuck that shit. I'd rather explore, or bang some slutmuffins, or something!

Ladies and gentlemen, please witness Classic Dumbfuckery - and please heed to the fact that SHIT is still SHIT.

!!SPOILER O LAWDY!!
She's still the canon-choice for male Wardens. Considering the bullshit that happens at the end, this time around I've opted not to give her Flemeths Black Grimoire, even when she asked about it - I tucked it away and promised her we'd go back to the Magi Tower and look at a later time. Her personality remains what I'd call "normal", and my Warden doesn't get turned down for HAWT LUVINZ, whereas in my first play through she pretty much seemed to had been possessed by Flemeth. Black Grimoire, True Grimoire, and Robes of Possession, etc.

Something just doesn't seem right, so for now, I'm going to just stick with having given the wench a mirror from Orzammar, maybe the game will take consideration that since she never received neither grimoires, nor the Robes of Possession, maybe she won't be a maleficarus bitch before the finale.
!!END SPOILER!!

I use quotes as I was taught ins chool, not on the fuckin' internet. I'm hardcore that way. btw, Calling someone names makes it less likely for them to do what you ask.

I take it you didn't do much after graduating high school? I'm finding it increasingly hard to believe that you aren't still in your early 20's.

yes

Its better than any other RPG today because:

1) I can apply a nude patch to it
2) the work on the breasts and nipples for the various female characters is staggering. I mean racial differences for stats is fine but this is the first rpg were breast and nipple size have true meaning for your race.

Across the internet it seems like people are split down the middle regarding Alistair, one side bitching about him not being a happy cheery sunny faced sod after having his good-as family slaughtered for no reason other than one man's power and the other whinging about his feelings for his dead foster family. In my opinion he was the best writen of the characters and his banter with Morrigan was the best in-game. No other charcter appealed to me in DA as much as he did, sure he deflected all the time but at least he did it wittily which is the most important thing since every every other character is as bland as can be outside of their respective generic roles.

Well-argued as always.

I had a disagreement with Volourn earlier about DA, and got responded to much the same way. Really no sense in any kind of intelligent debate with this one.

Dragon Age: Origins offers all of these, but with today's standards

Yes yes - it's better than Oblivion - yay!

Also everyone who hates Dragon Age for being a childish shit which it is just have outdated standards and need them updated to today's ones
