Dark Bestiary is an indie role-playing game with classless progression system and tons of skills.

Tactical combat
At your disposal are such mechanics as delayed attacks, knockback, traps, path blockers, line of sight checks, artillery projectiles and more.

Tons of skills
80+ skills at early access and much more when game will be released. Every skill have its own mechanic, no duplicates only fun stuff.

Classless progression
Create your own class! Pick skills you comfortable with, equip any weapon you like, adjust your talents to fit your playstyle. Almost no limits.

Why Early Access?
“To involve community in the development stage.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“About 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“A lot more content such as: monsters, skills, items, quests. Also i'm planning to add new game mode.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“All the core systems are in, and enough content for players to enjoy.

- 64 talents
- 50+ unique skills
- 150+ rare and magic items
- 20+ legendaries
- 60+ types of monsters
- 27 quests
- 7 locations
- 7 bosses”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“Exiting early access will change the price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“I've implemented in-game feedback form, every week i'm planning to publish player's suggestions so others can vote for the ideas they like most.”

Looks like a very combat and loot focused game, being made by a lone developer.

Turn-based is hype, hopefully its paced well so it doesn't get boring/too annoying to reroll new characters

Combat looks boring as hell, i hope he's going to improve his game somewhat adding multiple characters and making it more than going from one area to the next like millions of rogue-likes.

Its a Darkest Dungeones '''clone''' with top down fighting... and a less grind because you instatnly recover after missions.
You pick 1 of 4 base classes in a largely flexibile '''classless''' system. Combat consists of managing cooldowns on your abilities and figuring out where the AI is gonna go (if you play wizard).
You go to maps, do max 4 fights in a row with your single char vs 2 to 5 enemies and the game spams you with garbage and trash items. Most of them are ingredients for some more garbage.
Base campaign is about 25 events? Then there is a Nightmare mode with maybe random maps and shuffled together creatures, and money earning maps. Where you collect more fucking garbage. Because you are a moron.
Trash writing.

The interesting part is that you can pick your abilities from the whole pool. You get a random pick out of 5 on every second level up. Can buy any other.

You can put together a deck of abilites, you have, eh, 8 slots. See, on bottom right where it says Alchemits(1). The number in the brackets is how many abilities from that school are in your deck so you get passive bonuses.

Talent tree. Magic seems OP compared to rest. Harmony gives +50% might. I havent seen so much Might and Action point recovery in any other tree.

Enemies scale to your level...

Game was trivial for the whole campaign. Except suddenly the last map, where I died 10 times. Didnt die a single time before.
Most of the game I was running with a HP sponge totem (AI has prio to aggro on it or any other summon), CHarm and a Summon. While the AI is working on them. I was blasting.

But in the last map, its a bossfight iwth 2 bosses and they bring down my tanks faster than I can kill em or bring back the tanks. Charm also doesn work. So I reaplced Charm with Freeze to get the demon stuck and dealt with the wizard by stacking Corruption on him while refreezing the demon.
Long endurance fight.

See all those exiting items? I havent looked at them, I dont konw what they do and dont wanna know.
Stats dont matter for a mage, I put everything into MIGHT.

+ the good thing is that you can flexibly build differnt chars
- the bad is everything else

Depends on how much you deconstruct their gameplay.

Both feature that cursed town mainscreen, your base, where you talk to buildings. Its literally copied from DD.
Both send you to maps to gather loot and xp, and you return to the town. Those maps are from a 'campaign' list. Also copied from DD.
"Sidequests", a very generous term for what it actually is (maps on a list), also copied from DD.
The structure of chained maps where you conserve your hp (resource) is also copied from DD.
The pointless, random, garabge loot after each mission is partially copied from DD.
DD hamsterwheel copy. With less wheelspin.

Now the gampelay deconstruction: Bestiality has top down movement, a massive scope extension.
BUT there are no obstacles, rare is the map where there is something to create a 1 sided bottleneck.
The maps are squares out of squares with no diagonal movement even.
And worst of all the AI behaves zombie like, if it has special abilites, it does them and wait for cooldown, otherwise it moves to you or preferably to a summon/aggro pull.
It feels like tower defense...
As a wizard, most of the time, I only cliked attack/ability and the enemy without considergin where my guy is gonna move.
So the question is just how much did the spatial componenet add to my mental challenge? Or is it practically just a card pulling game like DD? Can I play it without specifically moving my wizard? In my playthrough, I could until the last map.
So its overalll a wrose DD.

You see, eg chess is all about spatial position - its what matters.
DD is about your cards (some say its about nothing... :>)
And so it Bestiality.

You know that Darkest Dungeon was not the first game that did things you listed?

it looks sort like low magic age, I actually like the graphics. I wish Pierre would use whatever base sprite and graphics Low Magic Age and Dark Bestiary seem to be using for KOTC2. I have seen this set of sprites being used around the internet it feels like, maybe with slight modifications. I wonder if Pierre could afford it, it would greatly enhance the look and appeal and reach of his game IMO..

This looks great, the art style, the flavor, TB combat, grim darkness, etc.

However do you only generate and control ONE character? You don't have a party?
