According to that video, the status of Kirk as a member of the Chaos covenant is actually explicitly made by the developer in an interview.

"You would think a betrayal to the Darkwraiths and a conversion to Chaos would be mentioned by Kaathe, the eggback, or the spider, or even his armor and weapons, but mysteriously enough, it isn't."

Just because some random individual developer made a comment, doesn't make it true. Does that make Oscar a servant of 1 of the 2 serpents, even though that content was cut out of the game? Until this is actually referenced by in game content, it's still fanfiction. It wouldn't be the first time for From Software people to back fanfiction, even though the content itself isn't in the game.
