a bunch of fantasy trope words were thrown together at random, translated poorly and left to the fans to parse however they like

right!

I can easly see why someone could not like this game, but complaining about the way story is presented in Dark Souls is beyond retardation

there's the guy right at the beginning who tells you something along the lines of, "in my family, we have a saying: when the undead chosen rings the two bells of awakening, then the fate of the undead berg will be revealed." that's a SAYING? you guys just break that one out in conversation, like 'winter is coming?'

crawkill confirmed for aspie. What is it about this site that draws your kind like moths to a flame?

crawkill is a fucking dumbass. There are flaws in Dark Souls but that wasn't one of them.

Anyways, looks like more of the same, which is good in its own way. Will wait and see.

When i saw those loading portals i thought is made for consoles only, there are no massive battles in Dark Souls due the console restrictions and there will never be such games unless they develop games for next console generation then they will first make them on pc, then port them, happy days.
Who would want massive battles? Massive battles would turn this into Dynasty Warriors or something.

I ditched Dark Souls at the release because of horrid controls/performance and didn't follow any community patches. Is it playable on a PC today?

Very. With all the mods installed.
All you need is a graphic mod update, mouse mod, textures updates, flavor updates
You can all grab them at DarkSouls Nexus

Founded DSfix and the Mouse Fix, what else are you using, so I won't have to skim through shit like The Burger King texture pack?

Why would you want to play that shit?
Got an invite for a co-op play. Checking what I am getting myself into.

I wouldn't try to play it without X-Box pad. The amount of irritation this game provides is sufficient even without having problems with navigation

I will love to smash some hordes of undead all together, 1 by 1 gets old fast, later was cool if you could beat the crap out of them in a spectacular way, anyway this doesnt look like Dark Souls 2, more like Dark Souls 1.5 which is not bad either.

the entire narrative of Dark Souls is of a HEART OF THE CARDS maturity level, lady. sorry if you hadn't registered that? it's Tolkienic buzzwords smeared against one another just enough to imply something where nothing's going on. maybe it's different in the Japanese! maybe it's GREAT in the Japanese. but any meaning you read into it in the English is entirely in your own head. sorry, sweetheart. I've read a couple fan theories! they're great theories. it's just too fucking bad they're not supported by the text without some deep leaps of faith.

thought experiment: insert every line of monologue from Dark Souls into Torment. if Torment is still worth playing at the end, Dark Souls is excusable. but it won't be.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
Slandering Dark Souls is exactly as horrifying as slandering Fallout and Planescape: Torment. Great games deserve our support, no matter the genre or the platform.

Also Obsidian loves the shit out of Dark Souls, if you couldn't tell from the P:E updates- just like the art director of PS:T loves the Dark Souls art direction and artwork. Go figure. Quality attracts quality.

Dark Souls uses an unconventional story telling technique (aka no-spoon-feeding-for-retards) and it's true that sometimes it is convoluted or diluted, but in the end it doesn't matter: the journey delivered is simply outstanding.

More of the same? I think not. The thing is DS has such a specific design that even small changes will make the game have a distinct flavor. Which is good as long as the core gameplay remains unaffected.

In other words, I love what I'm seeing. I was expecting something much worse than this.

That would require reading. These fucking morons can't do anything but listen to dialogues and take everything being said at face value.

Liking Dark Souls is a sure way to detect very impressionable persons and groupthinking.
