x4nti is right though. A lazy arse Steam release months after a GoG one shouldn't make the news. What is this place, another of Gaben's whore portals?

Months? More like years: http://af.gog.com/news/new_release_darklands?as=1649904300

That, and the fact that this is a release by this interesting new Retroism initiative, is what makes this news. You'll notice that when System Shock 2 came out on Steam a mere several months after it did on GOG, and from the same publisher, we didn't post that.

A lot of the games x4nti mentioned actually aren't available anywhere BUT Steam.

Don't lie...Most have been out on their native CONSOLES for ages beforehand. And really, announcing the release on Steam of an XBLA port is a job for the Watch or other mainstream degenerate sites, not here.

Too bad I sold my boxed copy ages ago. That map was awesome and almost mandatory to play the game. The manual that also masquaraded as a guide on medieval Germany? Fucking awesome.

And I've seen loads of different releases of this game throughout the years. Nice to see it's not fading into obscurity.

So, a certain game everyone knows about is available on a certain platform everyone knows is worse than a certain other platform? The superior platform offers the same game for a third of the price. This news piece shouldn't have been posted.
I fail to see how a platform that directly funds shit like Witcher is superior to GabeN's House of Wonders.
