Err what I meant was not hackers bothering me now but so that people can't spawn items on private server and pop into public fully loaded. So the private server is off the grid so to speak, characters created there are stuck there, nothing can cross over, etc... maybe someday down the line.

Send him an email and ask if he'll give you a private database so you and your friends can play it the way you want. I'm sure he'll get right on that.

The game is a blast right now. I don't cheat although I steal from cheaters sometimes, I think. Get out of Cherno, you might have some fun. Or hook up with us. Although it did end badly for the last guy that ran shotgun for me.

Initially I also thought "well wouldn't it be great to just explore and survive vs. zombies without all the assholes bothering me" but then I quickly realized that a lot of charm of DayZ will be lost.

With zombies you know - there are not much of them outside villages. But with players that are not your private little group you never know. It's the constant exhausting tension and that's where the majority of DayZ's brutal charm is.

I don't mind all the other players at all. I think it'd just be fun to control access to some degree, or design own maps to play on. Just wishful thinking not genuine complaints.

While running from zeds in downtown Electro, me and my Friend in Christ ran into a white knight player with a nice AK. I had a suspicion he tried to snipe me earlier but he denied it.

He holed us in a church while getting meds for my festering wound. Little did he know that we wanted more than that. As he gave me his medical supplies, my friend cried out 'Praise Jesus for this bounty!' as he stuck a hatchet in his back. He died right on the altar.

You can design your own maps. You can also modify DayZ and make it work on the multitude of other official and community maps. It's more than possible to make it save chars on your server. It just takes a shitload of time and also requires knowledge of C++/in-game scripting language.

That's the main reason why you are still stuck on Chernarus.
Although community extracted and released some scripts separately (loot generation; food/temp/healing simulation)

I've been skipping the game for the last few days. 1.7.1.5 is fucking A, fixed everything since 1.7 series kicked in but now the problem is, whatever server I join, either all the loot is gone, none spawning anew or the frame rate is horrible, with the exception of a few servers. I usually play in night time so maybe that's because by the time I join, servers are needing a reset.

I hardly play too. Cause...I duno, I seem to be destined to fail badly in this game. There's the fear of losing something..I haven't killed anyone yet...so yeah. Maybe. Maybe I'll get in. Kill my first man. And log out. I don't mind exploration but that chase really broke me mentally.

I love how every fucking building there is blocked with barbed wire. That thing is such a pain in the ass and is only used by server hoppers to block off loot, seeing as it doesn't do shit against zombies anyway. Rocket still insists that you can hop over it, yet every time I try nothing happens or I somehow manage to break my bones.

Rocket can be a moron sometimes, thinking that his 20 minute stress-test rushes are good enough to pass sweeping judgements. It's more likely that he set or found a wired fence on sloppy ground and vaulted over the part that was partially buried in the terrain.

But they do block zombies outside. That's the thing. If you set a wired fence indoor or by a doorway where zombies switch to walking mode, they simply walk through anything. When you set them outdoors, they still function as you would expect them to. Most players don't seem to realise this since most people don't set fences outdoors to begin with.

At any rate, I don't complain about wired fence death traps. They are part of what makes the game and PvP great. There was a recent carebear thread about it at reddit. People whining and moaning about wired fences blocking their way oh god oh god why why why it's so unrealistic and everything. Lazy piece of shits who can't be bothered to find a toolbox or a vehicle.

However, it's unfortunate that when you remove a kit, it's gone for good. Back in 1.5.something, stuff you dismounted became available for picking up again.

If the damn things actually worked the way they're supposed to and didn't require a water wand to find the magic place where you can remove them I wouldn't complain. Right now some fool just plants the thing and it's there for all eternity. Then there's the server hopping aspect of it, which is itself a huge issue.

Just found a crash site. Too bad that someone was already there. How do I know that? There's a Winchester with 7 slugs next to it.
Luckily for me, however, is that the person who found it first was somewhat of a retard, missing a NVG.
