this gameplay looks better. the fight with the dragon at the end is kind of impressive
Looks cinematic, kind of in a good way too. I remember how the original RE felt cinematic, like watching a B 80s horror film, without having to use any of the tricks that developers use today. They did it during play with art direction, sound design, camera angle, and ambience, not cutscenes (although there were some) and OTT set pieces. This reminds me of that, accomplished with, like you said, animation (duh, it's Capcom), lighting effects, palette. The RE5/6 camera angle helps, although I fear it's going to hamper play.
Capcom has traditionally had a good stable of visual artists, some of the best in the business honestly. Now if they could just ship their DLC-loving executive branch to a gulag...
