Ugh... this last fight is a real spike in difficulty.. Is everyone supposted to have higher armour/HP than my characters in this fight? I might go back to get more gear this is rough.

Yeah last fight is a bumpy ride. I've tried it about 5 times, for various reasons including freezes, and never managed to keep more than one of my characters alive for more than 3 turns. So I usually cloaked my ranger and waited for Lucian to kill the main villain dude (spoiler free), then uncloaked, ressurected my toons and finished off Lucian. Pretty reliable strategy.

You can get free gold(tm) by checking the amount of gold a merchant has, putting that amount into a bag, selling that bag for all their gold(this is important), and then buying back the bag with your own cash. Now you have all their gold!

I guess they patched it or smt, but I found a half-way solution. Did everything as you said up until that point

and then buying back the bag with your own cash

Instead I lifted said bag from the trader, even though it has 10k+ value it's still treated as a bag (low value and weight) as far as pickpocket limitations are concerned. Helped me out in a pinch, got my autistic squad geared up and things are going a bit better now (reaching 10 in summoning helped as well)

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Apparently, my post has reached Plebbit, and it's reactions are all too painfully predictable. Still, surprising that there's actually some people there that seem to have taken the time to read it. I think my favourite part is either the guy that TLDR:d it but clearly hadn't understood some of the sections and why I said it couldn't be TLDR:d, and then the faggots that start arguing based on that TLDR instead of the actual post, or the guy that literally and overtly cares more about the delivery and his virtue signalling than any of the arguments.

I'm honestly shocked that nobody has gone HE'S A FUCKING NAZI REEEEEE yet. Hope for humanity?

Writing too many words are now "toxic behavior" apparently.

Huh ? On the first turn I knocked down everyone but magisters and was keeping them down until Braccus summoned the Kraken . The damage potential you can achieve in the end is absurd , my arrow storm was hitting for like 14k in it's radius , the fact that you can spam it and every other source ability in the last battle also helps . The second phase was harder , because there are more annoying bastards doing their stuff and kraken can easily stun your party members while dealing good damage , but I managed to catch Braccus without armor and deplete his entire healthbar with one arrow storm ( wtf is wrong with this ability ? ) .

So i am asking for a spoiler here, those who played with the filthy arab Ifan to the end; does he try to backstab you or betray you at any point except the final battle?
Simple yes no pls
No

Does it do consistently for you? I feel it's bugged. Sometimes it goes all fucking bonkers on the mobs, sometimes it's noticeably less damaging. I didn't test it too much since it's pretty expensive but I absolutely did notice its inconsistency.

I believe it's intentionally randomized , my numbers were jumping from 6 to 14k , but they were more on the bigger side .

The problem is the underappreciated fact that writing a good fantasy story is actually incredibly hard. Because you can't rely on real world, you have to actually construct an entire world from ground up and it has to be plausible and endearing and fun and alive and consistent. Even first-class professional novelists like Rothfuss, Abercrombie or Martin sometimes fail at that.
Neither stories nor setting on level of Ice&Fire are required for a game to succeed.

If anything, maybe belief that you have to create whole world from ground up for a fantasy game is what makes developers fail.

For example, this game has a lot of books. How many of them are really worth the effort and time of putting them into the game?

TBH, I don't see much of an improvement over DOS1. DOS1 was bad but goofy AF and focused more on interactions between husband and waifu (which is gameplay, so part of what you do as player). DOS2 is still bad, but focuses on story whatever it is, drawing even more attention to how bad it is.

For all intents and purposes, I prefered Divine Divinity 1 with goofy Zandalor and philososkeletons, even if it was just open world Diablo... even if Diablo 1 still had more coherent story than most story focused RPGs today.

I guess that depends on your definition of success. I'm sure there are millions of gamers who see nothing wrong with the typical RPG writing. Even on this prestigious website there are people who feel engaged and entertained by the typical Larian plot. They even read most of the conversations instead of just clicking them away. Maybe it's all subjective.

Is it to much to ask for Divine Divinity content, Divinity 2 DKS music and atmosphere, along with DOS1 (with reduced bloat and a few tweaks) TB combat and interactivity?

Apparently it is.
:negative:

Don't get me wrong, i am still having fun with DOS2.

but it is like when you lose your virginity.
The first six months it is hell yeah.
The next year or so its like still p. good.
Then the dating game feels so draining and not worth it.

It's not like Divine Divinity was particularly funny or well written or atmospheric. There were some charming moments, but every single Larian game has been characterised by some successful moments of levity, some cringy or boring moments of failed humour, and an entirely too serious and boring plot with the most banal stereotypes you can think of stringing things along.

At least in DOS2 not every single sidequest or conversation you have is infested with the retarded CHOSEN ONE shit, and I can safely click Next whenever I see stupid shit crop up because I know Larian. Then I can just enjoy talking to chickens and getting a quest to save their eggs.

Pet Pal quests are the pinnacle of Larian writing. :shittydog:

I am not sure if I should put sarcastic or irony tag here or...

state of crafting in dos2 is annoying me.
Crafting is kinda dead and is just not required for effective play at all sadly.

A Thought about the companions:

1) Beast: Dwarves are cool, but his back-story "NATIONAL UNITY = BAD" sound sliek shitty propaganda to me. No Go.
2) Ifan: least Obnoxious of the lot. But a Filthy Arab. Remember, Arabs as a whole are the biggest lying backstabbers you can have the misfortune of interacting with. No Go.
3) Sebile: irritating Edgelord. No Go.
4) Lohse: Sexy voice. Sexy Voice actress. Entertainer possessed by a demon; hints at something interesting.
5) Red Prince: Pompous and Edgy; but has a snobby :obviously: vibe.
6) Fane: He keeps jizzing all voer himself. all the time. No go.

The only acceptable companions are the one who is possessed by a demon, or the one who looks like a demon.

LARIAN AND SWEN ARE CLEARLY SATANIC LIBERALS.

:shunthenonbeliever:

- About Sebille...if you can stomach her early on, her personal quest has a very interesting plot twist in late act 2 (driftwood). It was a surprisingly well written bit, considering how utterly garbage this game's writing is in general.

- The Dwarf OTOH is best ignored. His personal quest is uninteresting and his comments are banal shit boring.

- On Ifan: I'm glad I
let him die at the end of act 1
. Side note: I like how retarded librul writers can't help but bring a little bit of reality into the game. Faggot companions are more promiscous. So far Sebille is only STARTING to warm up to the idea of jumping my bone, while everyone travelling with Ifan complains the guy tries to butt ravage them at every turn.

And, yeah, I agree Lohse is the most likeable one.

Crafting is kinda dead and is just not required for effective play at all sadly.
WHUT? What about RUNES. Bro, do you even lift metagame?!

Honestly, ignoring crafting probably helps people like us enjoy the difficulty more. Now I walk into a room, press alt, and there are 80 fucking eggs and tables and used condoms all over the place and I don't have to worry about sorting them all so that I can craft a yolky condom in the future

I hate the word toxic, I hate the people who use the word toxic, I hate everything that word stands for in the context these fags use it. What the fuck does it even mean.

I noticed that arrow storm is NOT good as an AOE nuke, but it IS pretty good at hitting multiple times enemies with large hitboxes. The forest abomination got almost one-shot by my storm. A situational skill, but worth the memory.

Yes. This "collect a gazzillion junk items in order to (maybe) craft something useful later on" system needs to die in a fire. However, if you're in the business of crafting runes, the stuff you need is acquired from merchants anyway. So you just buy 2-3 items, press G, go to "recipes" and craft/upgrade your masterwork runes.

And speaking of misused words, my favorite is "broken". IMHO it should not be used to describe stuff that works perfectly, but happens to be (in your opinion) too stronk. I would, however, call "sky shot" a "broken" skill, since it does (almost) nothing. :M
