Do you believe in the concept of "system bloat" in RPGs?

you can watch a movie only for so long before it gets boring. games are about doing things.
And this comes from you? Do I need to remind you?

yea, and I beat GTAV, then tried the remaster of Vice City, but when I saw NPCs run away from me into water and then drown, because there is no swimming mechanic in the game, it ruined muh immersion.

I'm still playing GTAV while listening to an audiobook because it's like going for a walk while listening, without increasing my chance to get skin cancer, so it's a win win. It's definitely not the main activity, but the background to the book. I'm not doing that if I just wanna play.

Playing GTA 5 is absolutely not like going for a walk.

Immersion my ass, anyone who needs endless "real life" fantasy useless systems/subsystems is a faggot and he will die as a faggot. Real men can be immersed by the atmosphere alone, which means art direction, music, sound.

And core gameplay my friend.

Killing monsters. Looting their lifeless corpses. Exploring dungeons. Questing.

That is what needs to be well made. Nowadays devs are skipping stones. If core gameplay is mediocre, the game won't be saved by horse manicure or baking cookies. It's stuff for little girls. Which is how most devs (and players) feel today.

That's a given bro, core gameplay - combat, looting, exploration - always comes first. I can tolerate 1-2 small optional mini games like Arcomage for example, and that's it. A good optional crafting system and 1-2 small optional mini games are enough for any crpg.

All the rest is just unfocused retardation bloat. It's ok if some folks here are craving for this kind of shit, but there are already games for that purpose, to satisfy their simulation autism. There is skyrim with 500 mods, Ultima Online and many other mmos.

Trying to convert all crpgs into this kind of shit it's a big mistake imo. Experienced and prestigious devs of the past were struggling to deliver experimental/genre-fusions like those, and most of the time the results were not good (with very few exceptions).

It's delusional to expect the same modern devs who can't deliver a playable rpg on the release date, to deliver rpgs with meaningful multi-genre fusions.

And this is how you trigger insecure internet warriors.

Reminder that he did this to me as well when he was triggered then called himself gay for some reason. Typical Pathfinder fan.
