PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
At this point it's impossible not to be a Miracle- fangay, even if I like Na'vi. The man just executes every goddamn hero he plays (which are many) perfectly. 10K MMR when?
Would you say he is the best mid player the game has ever seen?

hard to say, because his team is built around him. notail and moon complement him well, similar to how old EG sacrificed farm for rtz/sumail.

right now, he's definitely the most skilled.

EG should've waited for Zai instead of rushing it and getting Bulba. He already finished school, they could've been playing with him in Manila.

I have no idea what the fuck is going on in Secret. Superstar teams have done badly in the past, but even the "failed" 2014DK had several months of complete domination. Secret is unbelievably bad given the level of individual skill on the team.

The change from farming wins games to team fights win games meta have nullified most "superstar" teams.
Yes the rooster changes hit hard but most top teams can't do the "farming to win" strategy any more.
In my opinion this meta is actually fun to watch, and separates actual talent from the so called "superstars".

I think Zai wouldn't have made the transfer window lockout... but I could be wrong.

I don't think Bulba is the problem, but rather Aui's lack of synergy with the rest of the team. I've always thought PPD was a bit overrated. Anyway, EG is out. :kwafuckyeah:

In other news, Secret is getting dumpstered by Empire. At this point it's hard to imagine they won't disband soon after this. This Riki is styling on them so hard.

edit: what the fuck, Universe just walks in and avoids every spell while catching 3 people in a game-saving Ravage. What a player.

I didn't catch the draft, but Secret has basically no way of dealing with Lifestealer or a BKB DK until the very late game. I imagine Lifestealer was picked relatively early in the draft, but Envy probably :retarded::retarded:thought it would be a good idea to not have any bkb-piercing stuns against him.

edit2: predictably, Secret got trucked. Also, that Sand King wrecked everyone. :prosper:

EG and Secret both in last place. Unbelievable. #1 and #3 in Shanghai, #2 and #3 in Frankfurt, now both look like absolute shite. Crazy.

I hope they get their shit together before TI...

Transfer window is closed, but does it matter? EG will get invited no matter what because of their win last year, right? There has to be some change.

One of the many reasons for EG's and Secret's downfall has got to be the scarce number of official games both teams have played since the last major.

Chinese teams had an atrocious showing at Shanghai, and since then, all of them have been grinding out online tournaments with measly payouts for months, and the results show: 3 LANs featuring Chinese teams since Shanghai, and CN teams have featured in the Grand Finals all three times, winning twice. MVP's and Fnatic's strong showing so far is also probably correlated to the sheer number of games they play, accelerating their understanding of the meta and advancing team synergy.

Before making wholesale changes to locked rosters, EG and Secret should consider playing more online and regional tournaments, given how much the gap between so-called Tier 1 and 2 teams has narrowed of late.

Is there any Codex Dota steam group? I just got back into the game recently, with a new steam account, and am looking for more bros to play with, as most of my irl friends dislike D2 and would rather play LoL instead.

Except, you know, Alliance is all about farm and they still on top :M

Why do i have a feeling both secret and eg are gonna fail to qualify for the major?(unless the ti champions are immune from the shuffle rules)
B01 are not a joke and there isn't any major tournament in the near time to test how the new roosters are gonna perform.
DC/COl and no diggity kicking them out of the qualifiers would be comedy gold.

Valve's handling of EG's direct invite is going to set an interesting precedent.

Newbee was awful leading up to TI5, but was still invited as the defending champions. There was no roster lock system in place back then, so they could change their roster. In EG's case, the rules seem to make it clear that breaking the roster lock will disqualify any potential direct invites. Valve must be hoping that EG wins a LAN before the invites go out.

BO1s are nerve wracking and Vici Gaming, which recently braved the open qualifiers after breaking the lock, barely escaped a cheese strat with a tight base race. I expect cheesy clown strats to be far more prevalent in the NA and EU open qualifiers since knocking EG or Secret out of TI6 is a hell of a way to get noticed.

Regarding Secret, I think Puppey is a great captain and player, but his hero pool is very limited. EE seems to have very limited communication skills, his speech is subhuman garble that's barely understandable and it must be very frustrating playing with him. I don't know who the fuck thought it was a good idea to let him draft. Misery is a good player but seeing other teams play at this Major, team synergy is through the roof - some of the plays are amazing, the engage/disengage timings and all that. Secret has none and constant roster changes aren't gonna help the situation.

The logical step is to ditch EE.

EG is a good team and Fear is one of my favourite players; he has a great hero pool and can both carry and support very well. Aui seems to be of the same autistic garbled communication variety as EE and I think he drags the team down.

As for the qualifiers, BO1s are indeed a crapshoot so who knows.

I don't understand why Aui isn't playing support.
Also I think EE is a great player, despite frankly embarrassing recent performances.

W33 played an inhouse lobby once, where he was the host and had -cheats enabled. Played meepo and kept refreshing spells with commands without anyone else realizing the lobby had cheats enabled. Thats pretty much all there is to it. Misery actually got caught maphacking in dota1 once, so he'd be the bigger ass of the two.

In terms of individual skill bulba is an enormous downgrade for Secret, but obviously a change had to be made. Hopefully the new lineup will manage some cohesion/communication/etc.

EG with Fear/Sumail/Universe/Zai/PPD looks like a contender to win TI, it's a ridiculously strong lineup.

.

Wasnt that the reason given they kicked him last time? I remember something along the lines of bad communication and all along a bad fit for the team.
