Bioware (and EA) are done. They've failed to live up to the mainstream and are steadily losing the hardcore. I mean Skyrim has 10 races to choose from, and Dragon Age wants to counter that with "we have 5 races but you only get to play human cause our animators are too lazy to implement other options." This shitfest Hail Mary ranks up there with Zenimax and that Elder Scrolls MMO. The sad part is I'd seriously be surprised if we didn't get at least one Bioware figurehead committing suicide or something similar. Shit's gone from laughably bad to just plain tragic.

It turns out that Fall-From-Grace was more than just an MCA character...

You know, in some ways, you're right. I've only read Twinkle's great LP of DAII and I haven't played it, but in both games there's a certain tone the whole thing that kinda disgusts me. Both games certainly have that in common. I'm having trouble articulating it, but I guess I could chalk it up to that lame, melodramatic bullshit BioWare loves to resort to (i.e. Leliana's hilarious singing segment).

But at the same time, there were parts of Origins that I enjoyed. RtwP is pretty 'meh' in general, but the implementation in Origins was pretty good, the real problem was the lackluster encounter design. I also really loved Redcliffe, plus the origins themselves were pretty well-done for the most part. Although it was full of trash mobs and overly-long, I thought the story aspect in the Deep Roads was pretty good, and I liked that you had a lot of flexibility when it came to accepting companions.

I wouldn't be able to sit through a game like that for a seventh second playthrough, but I thought it was decent.

  • "You will play a human character. So don't expect any dwarf-on-elf action. You get to choose backgrounds but you won't be able to play them like in Origins. We know from before that you won't reprise the role of Hawke."
Fuck off.
  • "You character will get control over a castle. No context given."
And?

  • "Character customization will be greater than in Origins. This includes follower customization."
Sweet.

  • "Saved games will transfer over from previous games, somehow... for some reason."
Good.

  • ""One level in Dragon Age 3 is as big as all of the levels in Dragon Age 2". Not sure if I understand this quote. Are they going for open area exploration? It's built on the Battlefield 3 engine after all."
Sounds find depending what they dom with the areas.

"thought EA would atke 5 mre years to crush Bioware (as theyhave done with ALL their RPG Studios) but between the massive shitpile with Mass Effect 3 (even on 2 there were disidents) and Dragon Age 2 seems they have their work cut out for them...3 years tops"

You are a fukkin' idiot.

"Bioware (and EA) are done."

Another moran. ME3 outsold both earlier MEs and got greta rveiews. DA2 sold 2mil+ copies in the first month and got good reviews.

Why do peopel fukkin' lie?

But, hey, keep bragging about those 1kcopies of AP sold. L0LZ

Ever thought this might have something to do with full Voice acting for the PC? No? Can't think that much ahead, huh....

Damn Volourn, you do realize those games were made with a goal of selling 10 million or more a piece? This isn't the old days of BG. It would be, if they continued making those games, but they shot their load at the stars. It's a completely different porn now, and they unloaded their bowels without using any plastic wrap. They've lost tens of millions of dollars with every release for years. The critics have gotten wind too, and scores will come crashing down just like Final Fantasy 14 did for Square. You're just observing the life support of a brain dead half-corpse. Sorry buddy.

No, they weren't. Talk abotut aking one single quote out of fukkin' context. None of these games were 'supposed' to sell 10mil+ games. FFS Only a handful of games EVER have done so. ffs

Why to argue if DA0 was good game or not if DA3 won't have any good parts from the her? Having no origins nor race selection sounds cheap and this is how all BIO game felt since DA2... less and less product value, reused, concepts, ideas, skins and assets. With this rate of :decline: they wlll make games for I phones Presto. :hero:

Of course, I feel like a total asshole for derailing a Bioware thread into Project Eternity.

I'm torn between two feelings on this...

"Please God let this be vapourware. Why must the world endure more of this?"

and

"Please God make this suck so bad that I can get a good laugh out of it. I enjoy laughing."

If it ends up being good then I will be sent to Hell, but then again I already counted on that.

If anything lulz are guaranteed with DA3 and ME4. I hope they can live up to the R00FLES of the previous titles.

ME4 will be fully rEAperized.

Somehow I think the game will fail even as a lulz source. They're fucked if they want to do a sequel, EA likely don't want to see the lulzy incompetency of bioware anymore, finally 4 is the number of death and bad luck.

EA is facing some real economic problems have you been so bussy picking lice out of your ass to hear about it? They want to cash in on Bioware as much as possible to balance the ods in their favor, they even revived Medal of Honor to try to comepete with Call of Duty since Battlefield is not enough for their problems right now.

That's a common misconception. If you look at EA loses through the years they are much bigger than the cash outflow, that means that their loss was mostly paper (not real cash outflow, but from depreciation, amortization, accretion and most importantly impairment, that functions more like a tax shield rather than a real loss ). In 2009 they had 1.6 billion and now at the end of 2012 they have one billion. EA has plenty of franchises that people like and buy. I would personally play NFS on my portable and almost all teens like sports (EA makes a shitload of sports games without any decent competition).

Did they cash in on Bioware. Probably not, but it was the fault of Bio and Tortanic and not the fault of EA. But you cannot say that Bio made games except for TOR were making loss. Three million of copies sold would roughly translate to $ 120 million at $ 40 bucks per copy (a guess:+ DLC's -packaging, shipping) and I kinda doubt that making and marketing each of these games cost that much ME123, DA12.

Now about DA3. I predict that it will be a semi flop as Bio will continue to loose "harcore" crowd in favor of sandbox Oblivion fans as this game will be in the middle. Still full of expensive cut scenes, but with some sand box elements. Bio can easily replicated dead world of one-liners that we saw in Oblivion and still ad the romances, hearfire, horses to please their crowd and attract a part of new crowd. If Beth taught us anything it's that there are no unimplemented features only lack of imagination.

If they will go with DA4 I think they will make an immense profit as it will be much more sand box, but with less cut scenes and we all know that POPAMOLE sandbox is a dream come true.

I :lol:d so hard at this, seeing as how, aside from Kirkwall, DA2 had like 3 levels.
