Hey, it's what happened with Baldur's Gate. Half the game was walking around. Same with Icewind Dale. I can't even begin to guess how much time I spent waiting for my party to walk from the inn to the cleric to the potion maker to the wizard's tower.
I wouldn't put it past them to make Dragon's Age longer by simply having the characters walking
everywhere -- fetch quests, retracing your steps, no fast movement.
